⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our Family’s Happy Place for Sushi (And Birthday Sparklers!)
All right—this place completely took me by surprise. Sushi spots are usually either “meh,” “okay,” or “pretty good.” But every now and then, you find a gem that reminds you why you fell in love with sushi in the first place. This is that place.
The menu- Massive. Fresh??…, Always! Delicious?… Without fail! My kids even ask to come here for their birthdays (and if that’s not the highest honor from picky eaters, I don’t know what is). And when we celebrate a birthday, they put a sparkler in the mochi ice cream—because why not make it special?
The portions are good sizes and everything is always fresh
The food- You’ve got everything from authentic soup bowls and Bento boxes to sushi rolls and creative Japanese-Mexican fusion. Their Cancun roll will have you dreaming of a beach vacation in Mexico. I swear by their refreshing rolls. The Salmon River Roll is my go-to! It’s wrapped in cucumber its so light and uplifting. When you try this place you absolutely have to try their ceviche roll!!!! My mouth is watering just making this review. 😆 I also swear by some of their newer rolls (I can’t remember the names, but trust me—they’re so good) they have completely won me over.
My husband swears by the Hot Cheeto sushi burrito like it’s a religious experience. He’s also loyal to their Bento boxes, crab wontons, and honestly, any sushi roll he’s tried. He’s yet to meet one he didn’t love.
My kids love the California rolls, the deep fried rolls, the edamame and just about all of the appetizers. They even got brave and tried some of the rolls we order and loved those too!
The baby really loves edamame, the marinated tofu, the plain tofu from their miso soup and also their marinated egg omelette slices. He also snacks on the appetizers we get and a piece or two of the California rolls. Sometimes they bring him new things to try that he might like. They love to spoil the whittles and make sure they’re happy too!
And let me just shout out the incredible customer service. We’ve got three kids (one under two), and every time we walk in, the staff immediately hands our toddler something to nibble on so he’s happy and we can breathe. They even recognize us now—the moment they see us, they’re already grabbing the edamame for the little guy.
Sure, sometimes there’s a bit of a wait, but it’s never really long. They give accurate wait times—and honestly, more often than not, they get us seated faster than estimated because they’re so efficient. They’re not one of those restaurants that’s going to tell you 10 to 15 minutes to try and get your business and then have you wait 30 to 45! They clear tables quickly, and food comes out fast once you order.
The sushi rolls? Fresh and exciting. Surprisingly flavor combinations. Just when you think they’ve peaked, they go and revamp the menu with even more cool options the surprise your pallet. They have lots of unique culinary twists that I have not experienced at other sushi restaurants.
Pro tip: If it’s chilly out, grab one of their giant, soul-warming soup bowls. Trust me…. You’ll be back! 😆
Price- This is a sushi-priced restaurant, but it’s completely fair considering the quality. We usually spend around $100- $140 for our family of five. We order drinks, appetizers, several rolls, sometimes bento boxes, and etc and we leave absolutely stuffed. For how fresh, creative, and satisfying the food is, it’s a great value.
We’ve eaten here a lot. Never had a single issue with the food or service. This review is way overdue—and yes, we’ll absolutely keep...

The Mexican waitress/hostess sat us and said, "We're going to close in 8min, let me know if you want to order food to go." She brings us back menus and said "7min" and again suggested "to go" Let me state, this has nothing to do with her ethnicity it's just a description as I do not know her name. I asked her if it was too late to order the baked mussels. Immediately without even asking "Yes, that takes more time and we close in 7min" DEVESTATED because i was craving this since my last visit ...
Still staying positive, I look at menu. Salmon Tartar that's quick and perfect!!! Another female "Hope" walks to our table to take our order. We were so fortunate to have her as our waitress. A new employee HIGHLY RECOMMEND asking for her to serve you! Friendly and professional, two traits employees should maintain at ALL TIMES!!!
Back to my short and happily ever ending story. My sweetie ordered ribs. The most tender and succulent absolutely amazing dish ever like ever!!!
Well until ..
I expressed my disappointment about the mussels in which I then heard from the kitchen "we'll cook what they want to order" my heart was filled with so much joy! I couldn't get the words out quick enough. Hurry before they change their mind ... Mussels and salmon tartar please!!! My sweetie started laughing.
THANK YOU HOPE ... YOU'RE WONDERFUL!!!
To the owner/manager Hope was fantastic and made both of us feel like our visit was appreciated; not once did she mention closing hours or make us uncomfortable for arriving so late. Please praise her for a job well done.
I'm not sure what was going on with the employee at that moment of our arrival but that was unacceptable. I would refuse to sit in her section (if she was a waitress) and placed on a waiting list to receive that treatment again.
This IS our monthly restaurant to go to. The food, I cannot say this enough, is absolutely incredible. We look forward to our return to enjoy a lovely dinner with your "welcoming staff" soon.
End of update. New pics posted
The food is amazing with great service! The restaurant is a bit outdated. Our table was wobbly, but we didn't care; focus was on the AMAZING food! Highly recommend the mussels and kimchi roll. I wish they were located in the Portland area. LOVE THE FOOD SOOO MUCH! Date night ... if you're not worried about the ambiance, this is a PERFECT place to enjoy each other's company. The way to a woman's heart is her stomach! I'll return every time I pass through Medford. YUMMY! Forgot to take photo of the kimchi roll because I couldn't wait to eat it. Short ribs were...
Read moreSummary: We stopped by this Japanese restaurant in a small town in Oregon on our way through, and while we felt a bit out of place as visitors, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. This spot offered a unique mash-up of sushi and Korean dishes, and everything we tried—from the sushi rolls to the bibimbap—was delicious. However, the service was a bit of a letdown, so I’m giving this place 4 out of 5 stars.
Ambience (4/5): The atmosphere was nice, especially for a small-town restaurant. It was a busy Sunday afternoon, and the place was packed, which made the environment feel lively. However, being unable to sit at the bar because my wife didn’t have her ID was a bit frustrating, especially given the crowd. It felt like an inconvenience, but that’s part of small-town charm, I suppose.
Authenticity (4.5/5): The food offered an interesting blend of Japanese and Korean cuisine. We had sushi rolls, fresh sashimi, Korean kimchi tofu soup, and beef bibimbap. Everything was prepared well, and the flavors were spot-on, which was a pleasant surprise considering the location. It was a great mix of authentic flavors across both cuisines.
Flavor (5/5): The flavors were fantastic. The sashimi was fresh, the sushi rolls were perfectly crafted, and the bibimbap and kimchi tofu soup had the right amount of spice and richness. Each dish was well-balanced, and everything tasted amazing.
Cost (4/5): Given the quality of the food, the prices were reasonable, but not cheap. However, for a small town with limited dining options, the cost felt fair for the quality of the dishes and the variety offered.
Service (3/5): The service was where the experience fell short. Since my wife didn’t have her ID, we couldn’t sit at the bar, which was frustrating as it was packed and we had to wait over 20 minutes for a table. Once seated, it took another 15 minutes for our server to come and take our order due to the crowd. While I understand the busyness, it was a bit of a negative experience that dampened the meal.
Tips for Visiting:
Be patient if it’s busy, especially on weekends—you might have to wait a bit for seating and service. If you’re craving both sushi and Korean food, this place is a great option, offering a unique combination of both cuisines. Make sure to bring your ID if you plan on sitting at the bar, as they are strict about it, even if you’re...
