Was there on Sunday, 03/18/18, very first time. I must say I’m giving the 5 Stars for the Food. It was Great, Loved it. The young lady, on the Serving Line, with the Eye Piercing, Very Sweet Dispisition. She spoke to each person that came in front of her, before she asked for their order. The next lady in the Serving Line, I can deal with her, she was tolerable. She kinda seemed to not be friendly, but for those of us that’s just there for the food, she’ll do. However, that one with All The Tatoos On both of her Arms, THE CASHIER, with the Red, Kool Aid color hair, very Nasty Disposition. I watched her, just like I did the others, while I waited in line about 30 mins., before getting to order my food. She doesn’t greet you, she’s involved in conversations with other employees, while she’s dealing with the customer. She doesn’t say recite your total to you, say Thank you or anything. She tore my receipt, while pulling it off the feeder, twice. That means when she passed it to me, it was in three pieces and she said ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Now, I said All of that to say this. Ms Daisy, I understand that your business is still A Young Business, so to speak. It appears that you’re doing Awesome. However, Bad or Nasty Attitudes will put A Stop to that. What I’ve come to see from Experiences is that as Black Owned and Operated Business, we tend to lack having Professional minded people, to help us operate it. Just because we’re Black and may be in certain areas or serving our Product to A predominantly Black clientele, Consumers, it doesn’t matter the Race, WANT GOOD, COURTEOUS, PROFESSIONAL/CORDIAL CUSTOMER SERVICE. There is a Ton Of Competition Out here and we as Consumers can go and Patronize anywhere, but when A customer comes to your business, they should feel good about where they’ve just spent their money. I would like to suggest that you talk with your Personnel, mainly the cashier. People are gonna be coming from all over the place, just for your food. Heck, I’ve already told a couple and today was my first time. I found your business just by Googling and drove over 40 mins., just to try it. A First Impression, Is Always A Lasting One and I am A Stigler on how I spend my money. I take all accounts into consideration, when spending it. You can have the Best Food out there and it was Delicious, but if you have A Bad Seed in the Business, Some if Not Most won’t overlook the Bad Seed. Ms Daisy, I’m sure you knows a Bad Word Spreads Much Quicker than A Good One. I’d already read a couple of bad Reviews on the Cashier, before I got to your place and she truly lived up to them. Don’t Allow her to Punish your...
Read moreThis place was suggested to me by a very young family member. I went with her to South Memphis. The parking was jammed but accessible, which is not a big deal to me, if good food is cooking.
But once inside, I couldn't help but notice, the workers were on the "ratchet" side...
The lady who appeared to be supervisor of the crew was not professional with her explanations...
When asked, could I wait for the next pan of lasagna, as there was only one serving of leftovers from the old pan...
She repeatedly said, "they already put it on the plate and I will have to throw it away, I can't do that!"...
I told her the first time, it wasn't a problem, no worries, I'll take it, it's okay.
But the young lady who came with me, was not satisfied and said to me it was not okay, her attitude needs to go...
I remained cordial and polite and patient as I finally received my food to go.
But the youngster with me, told me she couldn't take the girls behind the counter, rolling eyes at her and making sneery remarks, and said they had the worst "hood" attitudes ever towards her... She referred to it as a Memphis mentality.
I suggested she not match or sync behaviors. Simply, don't do business with businesses that don't uplift or motivate your spirit. There are too many great places in Memphis, that are really hidden gems.
I know this is long, but most people were getting food to go there, I wondered why?
When I got home, the lasagna was good but I've tasted better.
The greens were too salty for my taste, possibly canned though.
I liked that the cornbread muffin didn't taste like jiffy mix and the candied yams were not over sweet.
On a scale of 1-5, with 5 being the highest:
Location: 2 Customer Service: 1 Food Taste: 3 Google Maps: 5 😊
That's just my opinion, personally I've had much better, but depending on what one like, they may love it.
The young lady told me, if you like "ratchet" then you might love it. She needs to do her own review, lol
Final Take: It's nice to be nice when someone is in charge of your food intake... Unless you decide to walk away and not buy it, and still be nice, because that's an...
Read moreI'm very upset I haven't come across this place sooner. I travel to Memphis fairly often for work and when I have time to grab lunch, it's hard to find GOOD food without driving far.
I decided to try this place out and I'm so happy I did. I've never had baked chicken that delicious. It was so damn juicy and just fell right off the bone. Seasoned perfectly. I got the mac and cheese and it was exactly how I like it, and I'm picky with mac and cheese. I also had northern beans and that was delicious as well. Glad it came with bread so I could soak up everything leftover. I ate every bite.
The server was really friendly and the place seemed reasonably busy for it only being like 11am. The vibe in there is nice. Some real low mellow music playing in the background and people enjoying each others company. I felt right at home there and I didn't know a single person in there.
I'm going back tomorrow because I saw they had Oxtail on the menu and I'm...
