Nordic Coffee House — Restaurant in Menahga

I'm a regular here and this is honestly one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. It's an extremely cost effective place to eat. My favorite breakfast is (or was) a Mcdonalds egg mcmuffin. Well, turns out Kahvila makes what's called a "hammich" and that thing is just awesome. It's fairly similar except it has more of everything with an additional sauce that I can't put a name to and costs I think $4.50. Now an egg mcmuffin at mcdonalds is about $4, but the kicker is Kahvila's "hammich" is twice the size easy and on better bread. So you get 100% more food for only 12.5% more money. Same exact story for their "Brefuss" which is basically a much larger Sausage egg mcmuffin (but with better sausage and cheese) for about $5.50. Again, twice the size and it's WAY better than Mcdonalds for I think $1.50 more. Their time to cook may not be as fast as Mcdonalds, but what they cook there is NOT fast food at all. I would say wait time is about 50-100% longer and that's still pretty fast honestly for the quality they put out. They are much faster than a typical sit in restaurant even though that's what they are. I've been using their drive through for most of my orders but they have a CLEAN sit down modern looking interior. Very high level cooking going on back there with speed to boot. Staff there is always friendly and they tolerate my bad jokes more than they should in my opinion. The menu is pretty big too. A lot of options but I just get the main courses since I'm not much of a coffee guy but they have a nice variety of stuff to pick. They've had one hiccup there where they forgot one of my orders, but that was an easy fix and they said "next one is free" which they honored. I haven't had a single other issue there ever since. Overall, I'd give it an easy 10/10 but I dare say they break the scale and are closer to an 11/10. Seriously people this place is a hidden gem. Can't...

On average I get coffee and or food from Kahvila atleast 2 X per week. Food and coffee have always been good. Today, I pulled into drive thru, there was a vehicle in front of me, after 15 minutes of waiting to order I decided to park and go inside to order. There were 2 younger girls in line ahead of me waiting to order. We were the only customers in there . The girls ordered 2 drinks, no food, they waited over 20 mins for their drinks. I waited longer than that. Between sitting in drive thru and going inside I waited a total of 40 minutes for my order, which was for 1 cappuccino. I got my drink and politely told the girl behind the counter that I had been waiting 40 minutes , she immediately got defensive and said it wasnt there fault as they were waiting for their 3rd employee to show up. Not once did she apologize, or offer up a coupon for a future order. I told her that having worked in the industry for many years that if a customer tells you that they have been waiting that long that you need to listen and sympathize with the customer. When you are in MN Lakes Country and need a place to dine try this gem! It is located in beautiful downtown Menahga, MN. They offer a wide variety of choices from their delicious flatbread pizzas to sandwiches that are out of this world. The food will not disappoint you no matter what your preference is.

If you are a coffee lover this is the “Best Coffee Shop” up north. They offer a wide variety of options and their baristas are out of this world.

In addition to the unbelievable food and beverages you can get at Kahvila the atmosphere is AWESOME! They have converted an old feed store that was in town for years into this great establishment. You will be able to glimpses of the areas past on the walls and if you are lucky you might even catch someone tickling the ivories of the piano that is a center piece in their dining room.
