Can you say “ Unexpectedly Amazing?”! We needed lunch on a road trip back to Ohio and wee in Mendoza. Looking at online reviews we saw one that said “ don’t let the fact that it’s in a truck plaza/stop scare you away”. And boy was that a good review. Had we not seen it, we too would have driven on past and had a mediocre dining outcome. Instead we had amazing food served in a down-home setting. These are diner classics, breakfast all day and a huge menu that makes deciding impossible! Home cooked corned beef on a Rueben with homemade thousand island was fork tender and so lean. There’s nothing to compare a Reuben made with “ real -cooked corned beef” versus something that comes cold from a deli. And the crispy chicken wrap ( crispy chicken, just the right amount of dressing for flavor ( not sogginess and cheese all in a griddled and toasted tortilla). This was so big that 1/2 was more than enough - but so good it was worth taking a to-do box - thank goodness we had a cooler and ice ! Too good to pass up! Asked for a piece of the lemon meringue pie to go which didn’t leave the table! It was that good with down home prices which was one more reason to go. Thank goodness we found...

The dinners here come with a soup or salad, veggie of the day, potatoes your choice, and a scoop of ice cream. We asked if we could get soup and salad because we can't have the potatoes, and first they said no because no substitutions. But they did end up bringing us dinner salads!
The bourbon steak and shrimp was delicious, as were the green beans and salads. The vegetable beef soup had a very nice flavor, but only had one piece of beef each. Our servers were all quick and polite. At the end, they seemed surprised that we declined the ice cream or tapioca, but...
Read moreSo first time eating here food was okay I had the Rt. 34 pasta which has mushrooms, spinach, red bell peppers, and broccoli in it and comes with a soup or salad, garlic bread an a complimentary scoop of ice cream. My boyfriend had the meat lovers skillet, it tasted better then my pasta. Let's just say the broccoli cheddar cheese soup I had tasted better the my pasta did the pasta looked good but there was no flavor to it at all I even tried doctoring it with salt and pepper at the restaurant, seeing as I didn't eat it all I brought home what was left an added garlic powder and onion powder to it and it still tasted bland there was no flavor at all to the pasta, I also never got my complimentary scoop of ice cream, I'm not sure if that was because my boyfriend ordered a couple of desserts for later. The Oreo cheesecake and the strawberry short were extremely delicious. Unless they can pump up the flavor on the food I don't think I'll be eating...
