Cousins Subs — Restaurant in Menomonee Falls

Food apparently came up for pickup and was Givin to another party that was waiting for cheese nuggets for the rest of their order. The other customer said this does not look like my order. A girl with purple hair looked andcsaid, yes that is yours. 5 min later the customer returned and said to counter this was not his order, girl was untesponsive. Customer asked if it was mine or another parties. I said, that sounds like mine. I asked the girl if it was mine, she did not even look in the bag, just said...yeah that's yours and went back to making sandwiches. No apology, no offer to remake the now cold fries or opening sandwiches. Very disappointing. On a positive the sandwiches themselves tasted good. The fries were a little light and a bit cold...maybe other customer try ed them . Not sure I want to...

I ordered a Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich. It arrived and was covered in Marinara Sauce. I thought that was strange and killed the taste of the cheese steak. They insisted that that's how a Philly Cheese Steak is supposed to be served. The manager came out and in a loud voice said that she heard the server tell me it would have the marinara sauce. I didn't know how to respond to an obvious lie. She never mentioned the sauce (I ordered from the board which doesn't list marinara (in fairness the printed menu does)). The manager then carried on further until (no doubt thinking herself 'Joan of Arc') dramatically offered me a new sandwich. I got the new sandwich. I found a hair in it on the second bite and perhaps coincidentally have a stomach ache now 12 hours later prompting...

This is one of the recently remodeled Cousins and it's nice. The cheese steaks aren't quite as decedent as they were twenty years ago (and the fries in the combo are stingy) but really: it's quite filling and no one needs that much food for lunch anyway. They have a multi-drink machine but keep it pretty clean. Sandwiches are made to order and take a while but it's an expected wait. Bathrooms are OK until the wastebasket overflows (should probably just get a bigger container for lunch crowd). Table seating is clean and there are multiple places for up to four to sit in chairs (which is getting rare in remodels which often expect you to sit alone at a barstool). All in all, a pleasant surprise of a Cousins: I'll probably come back here a few...
