BEEN A DECADE OR TWO since I have tried much food, so though I used to love the fish fry on Fridays, and inexpensive breakfasts of eggs, hb, toast for 1.99, I doubt still an option was my fav place in town for having coffee with a friend, while sucking down smokes...back when we remembered with fondness, grocery shopping while smoking
Jean is an institution of Moms in that place, still slinging plates of kindness
GOOD PLACE TO BREAK DOWN don't break down at Kwik Trip, they call the cops on you under a day THIS STOP WONT CALL THE COPS they may want your phone number to reach you in case of problem they didn't use it it was appreciated.....who wants to approach our vehicle, right? scary, all the way around!
was broke down here for days
full disclosure, I worked here decades ago, though I was parked a day or two before seeing a familiar face...I enjoyed that! .....enjoyed stopping in on my way out of state couldn't afford to test the new menu .....I made the best cream of asparagus soup when I worked here, Sysco has (had?) a great cream base for soups....this place bought good soup base when I worked there, not sure what they use now.... and Julia made the most amazing pie crust I ever had .....hey, you guys use Julia's pie crust recipe yet?

Read moreWas hoping this was one.of those hole in the wall places with awesome food. I couldn't have been more wrong. Apparently its difficult to make mozz sticks without all the cheese being fried right out of them. Server said they just got them in and they're experimenting. I'm pretty sure your food distributor has directions on the package. I could be wrong though. Brought out another order (without me asking them to) and server said "These look better". How? Because this time there wasn't as much cheese dripping out of them? I turned it down and said no thank you, I'm good. SUPER slow service and not because they were busy. There was only 2 tables ahead of us (5 meals to make) and we waited about half an hour. Chili was barely warm (couldn't even melt the cheese) and had to ask for it to be warned up. Server said, thats why they call it chili and laughed. Soda is $2.70 and states free refills on the menu but when the servers are barely around (hanging out in the kitchen or smoking--how do they get 15 min smoke breaks??) its hard to get a refill. Hubby got the country fried steak and usually always finishes his meal but he didn't even eat half of it because it didn't taste good. How they have a 4.3 star rating is...
Read moreOriginally we were parked across the street at the Love's to get our tire fixed and we found a parking spot for our truck overnight. After dropping off a load nearby, we came back to this Cenex spot to park (I believe the restaurant's called "Exit 45").
A little later my partner came back and told me about this wondrous meal he had at the diner here. I went in and let me tell you... had some of the best pancakes I've ever had! The type that just melt in your mouth!😋 I ordered the 2 pancakes, bacon, eggs & hashbrowns all for under $8. The pancakes were so good I ordered 3 more! Yes, thats right. 5 delicious blueberry pancakes went down the hatch!😁 . Today it was the lunch buffet. Salad bar, chicken, meatloaf, fishsticks and dessert...all for $10! No matter which waitress we got, they were all friendly as can be. I even asked sweet Anna to take a picture so I could give them props. 😊 I can hardly move as I write this but just had to let everyone know about this hidden💎 of...
