Bulldog Saloon — Restaurant in Mentone

Just passing through so stopped to grab a beer and a bite to eat. The bartender "Rudy" was great. The bar has a bit of Purdue and IU history which was fun to debate. My wife had the chicken wrap which she said was good. The beer was ice cold. I had bone in wings with a side of portobello mushrooms. The wings were overcooked and average at best. The portobello mushrooms were definitely out of a the freezer and the bland breading totally hid any flavor the portobello mushrooms might have had at one time. Would we go back, heck yes! We figured we would give this place a try as we were on our way to the school in that area for a play. We sat down at 5:30pm and we figured we would have plenty of time to eat our meals and make it to the school by 7pm. We were wrong. At 6:30pm we still had no food. We then told the waitress to just bag our meals up because we wouldn’t have time to eat it there now. It then took her another 20 minutes to bag the meals up and for us to pay the bill. Great little place to eat, play pool or have a couple cocktails! Food is delicious and drinks are fair priced. The staff is friendly and helpful. Quick service and laid back atmosphere.
