Wow. . read the whiny reviews of "it's inedible" and "it's bland", "the rice was hard", etc., etc. . .this is during The Covid Crisis. . .they said "15-20 minutes". .was quicker than that. . .no "mask required" sign on the door yet the employees were behind a wall of Plexi and wearing masks. . .only thing I didn't like was a single pen that everyone had to use to sign the credit card receipt. Food? While it wasn't overly flavorful, it wasn't too salty like most Chinese food. . .I got beef and broccoli and Won Ton and rice. . the rice was fine, could taste the beef and broccoli and it was a huge serving .add salt if you like. .not me. . .won ton was also good. . .all for $12. . .I'll have leftovers. . .shut up and eat! :-)

Delicious food! Prompt service! Clean atmosphere! Not only was our food ready before the 15min pick up time they gave us, but the inside of the place was spotless and organized, I was impressed! Our food was hot and the portions were generous. I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken combo and my husband had the General Tso Chicken combo. We also had an order of the Crab Rangoon and a small wonton soup. The egg rolls & Rangoon tasted like they had been fried in fresh oil. They were soooo yummy and did not have that excess oil that usually accompanies fried food. This is our new favorite Chinese take out place! Highly recommend!!!

What a pleasant surprise! I haven’t been to Hunan Lake for a very long time because it was just an average take out place. I was just there and wow! The service was very fast, and the food...a complete difference from what I remember. The fried rice had many ingredients which you can see! My daughter got the pork fried rice and she commented on how much pork there was throughout. I’m not sure if there are new owners, but I tell you what...it has completely changed! I’ve tried many of the local Chinese restaurants, and in my opinion, Hunan Lake is my favorite! No complaints what so ever. Try them out!

I called for a pick up on a Thursday. The girl who answered seemed rude. I could barely hear her, and she sounded like she had an attitude. I got two orders of General tso’s. And one order of crab rangoons. My total was $29 something. Kind of expensive. The guy behind the register was more polite. My food was already ready for me when I got there. The chicken portions were good size. One portion can feed two people who are hungry. The rice portions are much smaller than any other Chinese place I’ve ever ordered from, my fried rice didn’t taste like fried rice. There was no egg, no vegetables or anything special in the fried rice. Just looked and tasted like steamed rice mixed with soy sauce for color. The chicken tasted decent. Kind of just tasted like it was from a buffet, that had been made in a huge batch and been sitting for a while, even though they weren’t busy. The crab rangoons are super yummy! My favorite part. I’d order crab rangoons from them again. All in all, not too bad. But...

I cannot recommend this place. I have ordered from them many times and in the past year Ive gotten sick 3 times after eating their food. I thought maybe it was me but again today I got egg drop soup, and egg rolls. I ate it and in 20 minutes I threw up. This has happened a few months ago and I got the same food. I had egg drop soup and it didn't taste very good or not what I normally was used to, but I ate it anyway and it came back up in 20 minutes. To be fair the food is normally fine but today it was bad. I don't know what was wrong but I won't eat there again and I can't recommend them. The shop is clean and very neat so cleanliness they get an A plus but food wise today it was very bad. For the record I never get sick on food I have a strong stomach but unfortunately I could not handle their food today. Maybe it was old or something I don't know but I won't get anything from them again. I'm a senior citizen if that makes any difference. I. will take them...
