This is a very nice neighborhood family style restaurant. I grew up in Meriden knowing the original place that was Guida's when there was an active farm. Then it was bought by a couple named Al and Arlene (I believe that was their name), hence, it was renamed A & A Restaurant. I married and moved out of Meriden decades ago but have gone by it but this time to Meriden actually met friends there for dinner. I enjoyed my visit. Upon entering, it's spacious and clean with a warmth in the air making it feel like home rather than just another restaurant. We were greeted warmly by a server who told us to sit wherever we liked, so, we did choosing to sit in a booth where my friends and I caught up after a lengthy absence. Anyway, we were given menus and asked if we wanted anything to drink. The menus are simple and clear. The prices are reasonable. The waitress came back with our drinks shortly after we ordered. The food came pretty quickly; the place was quiet with just us there as it was near closing time. The food was just perfect, not huge portions but just the right amount and I add, delicious. This was my first time there since it was redone with new owners and it was a positive experience. We weren't rushed and I highly recommend it. If you're looking for a nice, quiet place to go for a full meal or snack at reasonable prices in a safe area I'd suggest giving this place a try, you can't go wrong. There's plenty of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreek pizza is my favorite and the combo pizza we had here was absolutely fantastic! Tangy flavor, crisp crust. Outer crust was thick but bottom was not too thick. Plenty of sauce. If you like Greek pizza, you just know! It has that flavor I missed when I lived out of state. With so many pizza places around, itās hard to pinpoint that taste Iām looking for. This is it! Note: we ate there, so the pizza was served to us at the temperature of flowing lava. Review of flavor is based on after it cooled enough to enjoy it. So I bet picking it up would enough time to cool to perfection when you get home. No Foxon Park soda. They had some other dark birch beer. I didnāt rate the atmosphere because it doesnāt matter. Itās a family restaurant thatās cozy and has been there many years. Itās not fancy, but it doesnāt affect how incredible their pizza is! In my mind,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOur building was on N. Farm Rd. We were there for about 6 years. I was a frequent customer at A&A for lunch. Everything from burgers, the chicken tenders, which are very popular by the way and even their grinders, basically all of other food. This is definitely one of my first choices when we were in Wallingford, very quick and easy. I would call my order into Joanne and have it ready when I got there, I was able to get in and out really quick. Thank you for the great times, the conversations and obviously the good...
