I recently visited Flavors of Nawab for their weekend buffet. While I’ve had decent experiences dining in previously, this visit was incredibly disappointing. I had arranged a family dinner and called ahead to confirm they could accommodate a large group, which they assured me they could. Upon arrival, we were seated in a party room. While the setup was decent, the room’s heating was not working, which made it uncomfortable given the cold weather outside.
When we started eating, we noticed that several of the curries were not properly warmed. Despite this, we chose not to complain and continued with our meal. With kids in our group, there was naturally some movement as parents helped their children. However, one staff member, a man working there, kept giving us strange looks and eventually entered the room. Instead of asking if we needed anything or how the food was, he rudely questioned why there was so much movement and implied we were sneaking in extra guests, which was completely untrue and offensive. He said this in front of our entire family, making the experience even more humiliating.
When we raised this issue with the manager or person in charge, we didn’t receive a formal apology. This treatment was highly disrespectful, and it’s clear customer service is not their priority. It’s especially disappointing because we’ve visited this restaurant many times under the previous owners and never experienced anything like this.
To be fair, one staff member—a young woman—was kind and attentive. She ensured we had water and cleared our plates promptly, which we appreciated.
Overall, this experience was unacceptable, and we won’t be returning. The lack of warmth—both literal and figurative—was enough to leave a lasting...
Read moreI recently visited an Indian restaurant that offers a buffet, and it was a delightful experience. The variety of dishes on offer was impressive, ranging from classic favorites like butter chicken, biryani, and samosas, to more regional specialties that provided a nice touch of authenticity. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, with just the right amount of spice to satisfy both seasoned fans of Indian cuisine and newcomers.
The naan bread was freshly baked, soft, and perfectly charred, complementing the curry dishes nicely. The vegetarian options, including dal, aloo gobi, and paneer tikka, were delicious and hearty, while the meat dishes were tender and flavorful.
The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting, with friendly staff ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The buffet was well-maintained, with dishes being replenished regularly to ensure freshness.
Overall, this Indian buffet provided great value for money, with a variety of flavorful options that catered to all tastes. Whether you're a fan of traditional Indian dishes or eager to explore new flavors, this buffet is definitely...
Read moreI used to love this restaurant when we first started getting food here—the food was flavorful and satisfying. Unfortunately, over time, the quality has gone downhill. The meat (we usually got lamb or chicken), which used to be tender and well-prepared, is now often cheap cuts filled with bones. The flavor is there, but I just can't enjoy it. It’s a huge disappointment considering the prices they charge.
The service is another issue entirely. Every time I place a pickup order, the wait is ridiculous. I’ve waited up to an hour after the food was supposedly ready, just standing there. On a couple of occasions, they offered a free lassi to make up for the delay, which was appreciated but doesn’t fix the root problem.
When you combine the deteriorating quality of the food with the outrageous wait times, it’s simply not worth it anymore, especially in this economy. There are plenty of other Indian restaurants that offer better value for the same or even lower prices. This used to be a gem, but now it’s just a...
