Employees and customer service are a joke, and food is subpar to say the best.
Called to place an order for my first time ever at this new-to-us pizza place. I was told that they no longer accept phone orders without prepayment because of people calling in orders and not showing up. Normally this would not be a problem, however I wanted to pay cash and I was told I needed to come in person to the restaurant to place my order and pay for it before they would start making it.
Being the very understanding person that I am, I drove down in person and placed my order and paid for it, and was told it was going to be 35-45 minutes. Instead of waiting at the restaurant, I told them I was going to run an errand and return to pick up our food.
About 10 minutes after I left, I realized I forgot to add something to my order. I called the restaurant to see if I could add something else on and they said I could, but only if I drove back to the restaurant and paid for the item I was adding first.
I explained that I was the woman that was just there in person who had paid for the large order in cash, and that I was most certainly coming back for the food I already paid for. I asked if they could make an exception this time and let me pay when I come back given the conversation we just had at the restaurant, and that I was in the middle of my errand I was running before returning for our food.
Their answer was no. They said all food must be paid for before it is made, no exceptions.
I called another pizza place to order what we forgot to add, and headed to the other place after picking up the food I paid for at Garbonzo's. The food from Garbonzos was garbage compared to the food we ordered at the other place. This leads to me to believe this is the reason Garbonzos makes customers prepay, because once you taste the food you'll want to take your money somewhere else.
They also continue sending customers unwarranted and unwanted solicitations after being asked not to.

Read moreOrdered two pizzas for delivery at 5:30pm. The app showed a 60 minute wait. But At 5:55pm the app still showed a 60 minute wait. So I called. A young lady on the phone told me they were just about to start making my pizzas. (25mins after I ordered??) So I continued to wait and kept my eye on the app time. It showed a 60 minute wait, the whole time. Then at 6:30pm, with the app still telling me I had 60 minutes to wait, I went ahead and called again. After listening to the phone ring for at least 5 minutes a young man answered. Told him my issue and gave my name. He said that my pizza had just left the building. So once again, I waited. 20 more minutes pass. Then finally a soft, quick knock at the door. We opened the door up and grabbed the pizza. When we opened the boxes, it was very obvious that one of our pizzas had been dropped. All smashed to one side with toppings everywhere BUT on the pizza. And to make it worse, both pies were COLD. But to make it way worse, the pizzas weren't properly cut. And with me having only one arm at the moment, it was extremely difficult to cut myself. We were happy with the service up until a while ago, when I had placed an order and my husband got there for pickup and was told the pizza was given to someone else. Being the kind person my husband is, he chose to wait for over a half hour. There was no offer of any type of discount or trying to make the situation right, which is what was honestly a bit disappointing to me. For us the opportunity cost of (time) is far more important than money. We didn’t need a free handout, but just to have had an offer of trying to make things nice would have really been appreciated. I would love to say this had only happened on one occasion, but unfortunately that is not the case. We received the wrong delivery order a second time, and just didn’t have time to drive over to get the “right” order. Even more disappointing is that, I did try to reach a manager and was never given a call back. My family will never do business here again, due to the sheer lack of communication and willingness to make things right.
