First and last time Iāll stop at this Jacks. Growing up and living the majority of my life in Alabama and Jacks being one of the few restaurants in our town, i was raised on Jacks. And never have I experienced what I did today. I live in Louisiana now so anytime I have a chance to stop by Jacks, I do. So traveling today, I decided to stop at this one. Even thought itās not convenient off the interstate, I made the drive. I pull up to the drive thru. told the lady at the speaker my order, she said me hold on. So I wait, tell her again. Double Cheeseburger, No onions, and a coke. She REPEATS IT and said NO ONIONS. So I pull up, pay, she hands the bag, I immediately smelled the onions so I check as Iām waiting on my coke, so I politely tell her when she comes back, hey this has onions. She grabs the bag. Comes back and tells me to pull around. The manager brings it out to my car. Not a āIām sorryā āhave a nice dayāā¦.NOTHING. Thatās fine. But I go and open my burger, and the paper is crumbled, barely wrapped up. And thereās onions on the paper, just a few but you can see where they scrapped off the onions and slapped a piece of cheese on it (you could see half the melted cheese still on the patty and one cold, melted cheese slapped on) so I went in to just get a fresh one. As soon as I walk in, this one girl goes āsheās walking back in with the bagā never once said can I help you, is anything wrong, mind you I was so nice and never rude. Finally after not being spoken to, I said hey Iām not trying to be rude or cause issues but can I have a fresh burger with no onions, you can tell the onions were just scrapped off. The guy in the kitchen starts saying some stuff and I could hear and he said well if it would have been rang in right the first time and the girl in the drive thru says she didnāt say no onions. I finally spoke up, I said yes maāam I did and someone repeated it. Iām not gonna argue with someone and be treated this way. The manager is still just standing there. Never once apologized. I felt so belittled. All bc I wanted my burger with no onions lol. I just donāt like them. Itās not like I was asking for something difficult. The kitchen guy finally made my burger but made it clear he wasnāt bagging it. So the manager grabbed it, put it back in the same bag I had been given twice and didnāt say a WORD. I was a restaurant manager for many many years. Idk what kind of training they had. But a simple apology goes a long way. If I would have been given a simple apology, and not been treated the way I way, I wouldnāt be writing a book for a review. Whoever the GM and District manager is for this location needs to teach some common courtesy for customers. Jacks in Alabama would never. The employees there are so sweet and welcoming. Oh and for the record, my burger was hot. I was definitely scared to eat it after that, the amount of grease it had was insaneš¬ I get having a little grease. But when thereās that much dripping off the burger is a tad much. I took one bite and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYesterday was my second day in a row that I attempted to order chicken from Jack's CHICKEN. The first time I drove up to the drive thru and sat there for a while with one car in line in front of me. I was greeted with someone saying "can you hold on a second". After a few minutes they came back to the speaker and I asked for a 2 piece chicken meal. I was told that it would be a 20 minute wait on chicken. Of course I pulled off only to see the only other car that was in line had pulled up from the drive thru window and I assume they were waiting on their order. Yesterday I pulled up to the drive thru and immediately noticed the car in front of me pulling off. I pulled up to the speaker and was never greeted. The car behind me pulled off so eventually I pulled off and parked to go inside. Inside there were several customers standing in the lobby waiting on their orders and one person even waiting outside in one of the rocking chairs... also waiting on their order. The only couple in front of me in line to place their order eventually walked out and I just followed. Bottom line POOR to no management at this location. Both visits were around 5pm to 5:30pm when most restaurants know people are getting off work and picking up dinner. It's not going to get any better unless you get better leadership at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a really bad experience with Jack's yesterday. I ordered the 3-piece chicken and paid the upcharge on each piece to get 3 breasts instead of the mixed chicken. I don't eat the dark chicken. This was a to go order. What I received was 2 breasts and 1 thigh. All had been under the heat lamp for way too long. It was so dried out and crust was so hard in places that I couldn't eat parts of it. And the potato and gravy cups were less than half full. What makes this so bad is that it's happened before. This has happened on 2 of my last 3 to go orders. This time I took some pics before I ate what I could and threw away the rest. 2 out of 3 bad to go orders makes me believe that they're saving the old chicken that should be tossed and using it for to go orders. This shouldn't be happening.
Update: Jack's manager got in touch and replaced the meal. The replacement was very good!
Update 8-7-2025: Service and quality has improved. And I've started back up with them. 4 out of 5 meals are pretty good. But they still need to work on that! EVERY meal should be good quality. I shouldn't be getting chicken that's been under the heat lamp for hours 1 out of 5 times. But I do understand that they're working on it and have raised my...
