On our way home to Roscoe Texas we stopped here to eat. We had a wonderful waitress but the food was real greasy but we did not complain. Was trying to be polite. Then when we paid out the I told the lady one Senior citizen and she didn't give us one for my Mom.. She messed up on the register and had to vold out her mistakes but she had also over charged us by adding a meal to our Order. I paid the lady then went to sit down. We looked over the receipt and noticed we got charged more then we should. We went to talk to the lady at the register to get it fixed she gave us back some money. After we saw she made mistakes on the receipt we looked over it more. They vold parts of the receipt did not look right to us so we had her look over it again. By the point the lady at the register started to seem Irritated with us. When all we were trying to do is make sure the amount we paid was right since she had made a mistake 2 times.
While we were doing all this the waitress came by with a bag. We had ordered some food to take home to a family member it was supposed to be fajita plate. We did not think to check that meal to make sure it was right. The food was in a box already. The waitress put the food in the bag for us and we left a nice tip. Then we left.
We get home in Roscoe Texas and find that they messed up on the order For fajitas we did not get what we paid for. So we call them to see what we could do. The lady remembered us and I guess blames us for her mistake and then tells us we would have to call back to talk to her manager.. She did not believe they messed up on the fajita plate. By this time we are really upset. We decided that since the lady thinks that we are liars.. and we trying to make off with free food I guess. We wont go back ever again not even to get the fajitas we paid for but never got. Eat here at...

Now, I’ve had some defining moments in my life—first car, first love, first time realizing gas station sushi is a terrible idea. But nothing, and I mean nothing, prepared me for the Hamburger Steak at Skeet’s Texas Grill.
I walked in expecting a solid meal, maybe something to hold me over until I could make worse decisions later. But when that Hamburger Steak hit my table, sizzling under a blanket of grilled onions and rich brown gravy, I knew I was in for something spiritual. It wasn’t just a meal—it was a Texas-sized revelation.
The first bite? Glorious. Juicy, beefy, with just the right sear on the edges like it had been cooked by a pitmaster who also moonlights as a poet. The onions were caramelized to perfection—none of that half-cooked, disappointing stringiness—just pure, golden goodness. And the gravy? Oh, the gravy. I wanted to bottle it and wear it like cologne.
Halfway through, I caught myself whispering, “Where have you been all my life?” to the plate. A nearby customer nodded in understanding—he, too, had seen the light.
The sides? Mashed potatoes so creamy they should come with a warning label, and green beans that somehow made me not regret eating a vegetable.
By the time I finished, I wasn’t just full—I was a changed man. I walked out of Skeet’s Texas Grill a believer in the power of a great Hamburger Steak. If you haven’t been, go. And if you order anything else? Well,...
Read moreAmazing food, great service. I normally get the chicken fried steak which is always good. My family goes here on a regular basis and we have yet to have anything other than a stellar experience each time.
The serves are always friendly. The food is always delicious. You can't beat the portion sizes! They're huge! And the fries... I could go on for days about how amazing their fries are. They are bar none the best fries around.
I personally frequent the Merkel location but I have been to the Sweetwater, Abilene, and Snyder location and they are very consistent in quality to the one near me. 5 out 5 stars on everything. The Merkel location is right off I-20 and a great place to drop in if you're just passing through on your way to the DFW or Midland.
Don't miss an opportunity to enjoy this little West Texas gem nestled in the heart of the Texas...
