Updated as of 3.29.2023 Mango Marleys has successfully made it to a 1star establishment for us! Never will return. Went with group of 6 for lunch. Got seated right away. 2 waitresses came by to say they'd be back to take drink order. 15 min pass and our drink order along with food order was taken. Ordered appetizer along with entrees. Drinks took forever to get. Food arrived after 1 hr and 18 minutes. You guessed it, food was cold. Appetizer was never brought out, side salads never brought out. One kids meal still not brought out. When kids Hamburger meal came, burger too red on inside to eat as kid freaked out seeing red. Fried plantains were burnt and cold. Shrimp way over cooked to the point you can't even chew it, like rubber. Horrible place, tourist trap for sure! They count on the one and done customers for sure. Because no one would be a regular at this establishment with the food they serve. And yes, this was all brought up and all the Mgr could say was sorry. **Original review We live here, support all restaurants year round. My last review of Mango Marley's was a 5 star. Today however I am giving it 2 stars. For 24.99 for the fish and shrimp dinner, I could have cooked better looking food myself at home. According to our waitress who talked to the chef, the fish fell apart taking it out of fryer to plate. Instead of frying another piece and making it right, he pieced together whatever he could Salvage and sent it out. Our waitress offered to fry another piece for me which we declined. This should have been done to begin with. Not have a 24.99 meal brought out like this in hopes that the customer will accept it. The wings my husband ordered were delivered to another table. Sat down in front of customer as the waitress continued to give other dishes out to other table. Another waitress came over and took the wings away from that customer and returned them to window where food is ready to be picked up. Our waitress goes and picked up those wings and proceeded to bring to our table. I'm sorry but with covid going on, once you serve a dish it needs to stay where you served it. 140.00 for 4 people to eat here with each having one drink is outrageous for the type of food being served. Sorry Mango Marley's, you have now been removed from our go to restaurant list. Tonight was definitely not a Mango...
Read moreMy husband and I went on a Saturday night around 6pm. We left at 8pm, 2 hours later, and only 1 us had been served their entree.
I will go ahead and state that they did have a sign on the door that said they were short staffed and to be patient. We thought we were ok with that and we weren't in a hurry.
After waiting 45 minutes outside with the place only half full of people and half empty tables (and this is not a large place) we decided to go in and sit at the small bar. Bartender told us that as long as we ordered alcohol we could sit there and eat instead of waiting for a table.
We ordered 1 appetizer (8 fried shrimp) and 2 entrees (him - grouper fingers with salad and fries and me - cod sandwich with fried plantains). One hour and 15 minutes later we left. My husband's salad and meal had came and he ate it. After he finished his meal the shrimp appetizer came. That should have come 1st. That's why it is an appetizer. So, we shared it.
After an hour and 15 minutes my sandwich and plantains still had not been served and bartender/manager kept asking me "Did you get your food?" I didn't understand that. It's a 10 person bar. He hasn't given me food or seen me eat it. I was starving. It didn't seem my food was going to come soon after 2 hours of being there so we paid and left. I ate some oreos at home. The mango margarita's were good. Not sure they had any alcohol in it but tasty nevertheless.
I totally understand being short-staffed and I don't know what the answer is. Close early? Stop letting people come in when 2 hours later you still can't serve them? I don't know. But the greasy grouper fingers and tiny shrimp won't get us back even if they are full staffed. Now I know why the parking lot for the other seafood restaurant place in town was packed and...
Read moreThis is one of my favorite places to eat when we vacation in Mexico Beach Florida. It makes me smile just thinking about how wonderful the service, food, drinks, atmosphere & if you are lucky even live music all just across the street from the beautiful white sugar sand beach. The menu has something for everyoneâs tastes & the portions are plentiful. I definitely recommend starting out with their homemade fried pickle chips that comes with their homemade ranch, get extra ranch, itâs that good. The menu has plenty of options for the seafood lovers but also has plenty for those who prefer something else. If you like sweet potatoes then you are going to want to try their homemade sweet potato fries perfectly seasoned with the most tasty brown sugar coating, sublime, I wish I had some right now. The staff is always smiling & not once does your glass sit empty. Rebuilding after the hurricane in 2018 seemed daunting but the owners are really amazing people who want to maintain the integrity of this small beach town so they rebuilt in the same location & serve the locals & tourists year around with their tasty food. If you ever find yourself there, donât miss the beautiful mural on the side of the building for a great photo op. Donât forget to grab a piece of their fabulous key lime pie, trust me even though you will probably be to full to eat it right then you will definitely enjoy it later. Canât wait for our next trip to our favorite vacation spot to stop in and enjoy a beautiful lunch or dinner with the gang at Mango Marleyâs. I included photos of an updated menu, the other ones Iâve saw online have the wrong prices, enjoy your meal & make great memories at the beach without the tourist traps, this place is a one of a kind, definitely no chain...
