Honestly, I'm not sure as to why this food truck gets so many good reviews. I've visited this place 2 times (thinking I probably just went on a bad day the first time). I am a Mexican native, that's why I feel compelled to give an honest opinion based on my last visit in which I tried 3 different types of tacos; carnitas, al pastor & carne asada.
Food: Stay away from carnitas tacos (too bland, flavor just wasn't there), there were only chunks of pork which does not even resemble carnitas in any way, shape or form. Steak tacos were mediocre at best, the meat quality was not good at all and it tasted like it was cooked since yesterday and put it again on the flat today to warm it up. Al pastor was the most decent of the 3 different meats I tried, I suppose the marinate helped out.
Salsas: The red salsa is just spicy, but not flavorful, while the green salsa was just bland.
Service was good, they were all very cordial, no complaints here (hence the bump on the star rating).
One more thing to add, (it is a food truck under a tent, I realize that) beware of the many flies that will keep you company, should you decide to eat at the place,...
Read moreI was getting a car service and I was near by so I decided to try this taco place mind you for context is located in Opa Locka and right next to a President supermarket. They advertised the specials right at the door from Monday to Friday until 4:30pm I asked for the specials the Waitress informed me that it was not longer until 4:30 but rather to 3:30pm, I arrived close to 4p no problem I order the 4 order tacos for $15 and Margarita. The tacos arrived and it was the saddest tacos, flavor none existent and they didn’t look pretty at all, then the Frozen Margarita I ordered arrived it was whatever. The bill came and it was a little over $30 for the experience I feel that I was robbed you can a whole Miami Spice Menu for $35. There are plenty other Mexican restaurants that really want your money and they will try to please you. This one was a...
Read moreThis is my third time coming… the second time I came I had the pleasure of meeting Pancho the chef and he recommended the tostada. It was so good, the tostadas are nine dollars and the tacos are four for $10. You can get up to two meats I am from Texas and when I say this is the closest to street tacos that I’ve had in a long time , I mean it!!! I recommend this place to anybody who loves a good taco. The tostada was very crispy even after a drive home, and the meat was very flavorful. The Verda and the spicy salsa were also very well-made I can tell they were homemade I would come here anytime😊 please don’t assume because it’s on the side of a gas station that it’s not good because the food...
