I could not wait to leave a review after my experience at Coal Creek Restaurant. Every single aspect of my reservation last night was top notch and five star quality. The staff were amazing, our waitress checked on us often and we literally had to ask for nothing because she would appear and refill drinks the exact moment we needed a refill. The appetizers came out very quickly and tasted as if they were made from scratch just for us. Also the appetizers were absolutely amazing. By far the best appetizers I've ever eaten. I recommend if you dine here, try the Pork Belly Lollipops and the Prime Rib sliders. Next came our meal and it too was by far the best restaraunt food I have ever eaten and I am 45 years old. Steaks cooked to perfection, asparagus was perfect juice with a slight crispness to it, where most restaraunt send out asparagus that is soggy or limp and overcooked. The Asparagus from Coal Creek comes out perfectly cooked and delicious. The prime rib soup had a smokey flavor to it that Is hard to explain but I told my wife I think this is why people call something robust. I think robust explains the soup because it was smoky and full of flavor and I could taste flavors I've never felt before and it was so delicious it was an experience just by itself. Lastly the desert menu has all of my favorite things only done a thousand times better than other restaurants do their desserts. My carrot cake was a huge moist delicious slice that could fill a person up all by itself. All in all this was by far my best restaurant experience in my life and going forward my wife and I will dine here again as much as possible. We felt as if Gordon Ramsay himself had cooked for us last night, and then kind caring staff delivered it to us and made sure we never needed a single thing. Well Done Coal Creek Management, you can really tell you've created a very special experience for everyone who dines at your restaurant. I recommend that anyone and everyone dine here as soon as possible because you are missing out on a very special experience. 5 Stars / Well Done, and thank you so much for an amazing...
Read moreThe food was very good. Just need to encourage management to retrain servers. We left with every dish on our table from the empty bread basket, appetizer, side plates, empty beer bottles, and entree plates. Table was packed full of dirty dishes. Server brought new beer and didn’t take the empty one. She returned with empty hands to check on us and left with empty hands. Pre-bus is key. Walk with empty return with full. We wanted to stay and socialize with another drink but the table was crowded with dishes. Ordered a Chardonnay and was brought a red wine. When we told the server it needed to be Chardonnay she argued up and down that the red wine she brought was Chardonnay. She left to talk with bartender and returned pointing on the drink menu and that there are “three different types of Chardonnay” we informed her she was pointing at a Sav Cab in the red section after saying multiple times Chardonnay is a white wine. She left to discuss with bartenders once more and blamed the mistake on them and said it was their fault because the bartender is new and she rang the correct wine in. We assured her that when we started as FOH staff we were unsure of different types of wine and she said “oh well I’ve worked here for while.” Therefore, you should know your wine. Also excused her mistake by saying “I don’t drink so I don’t know much.” You don’t have to drink, to know what you are selling. The best thing you can do when you make a mistake is tell the truth and not blame your coworkers. We ordered a second beer and watched the beer sit on the server well for a long time. She brought it to the table and blamed the bar staff once again for being slow (bar was empty). Additionally, we planned to order dessert Togo for our birthday and she brought the check and began to walk away. I’m just saying, stellar service when preforming the job correctly makes you optimal money. Overall the food was great, but the wait staff needs proper training. Not her fault she was trained incorrectly. Fix the issue from the management or they will have a hard time at the...
Read moreWe went on a Friday evening - three adults and three small children. We were sat in a rather large booth that allowed the kids to play during our meal. The restaurant was not busy - mostly pensioners at the tables, no other children, younger adults at the bar seating. Food was well presented. Portions were on the adequate to large size. Flavours were just OK. The fried avocado - slices were too large to enjoy fried - it was green mush surrounded by crunchy breading. If the Avacados were younger and sliced thinner it might have been good. The fried calamari was adequate - not over-cooked, but oily (heat the oil to a higher temp before frying). Prime rib was good - the sides were OK - my son liked the glazed carrots, but the mash, onion rings and fancy “mac n cheese” looked pretty but tasted prepacked and frozen. Everything but the pasta with the Chicken Piccata was room temperature. Highlights- the starter yeast rolls with sweet butter and the Buffalo Tail Cocktail - Smokey, spicy with a touch of peach (also cheaper than their other specialty drinks). Each of the staff had interesting personalities, but service was sloooow - otherwise we might have asked for reheats on...
