Have eaten here several times and had good experiences. My son and his wife eat here weekly. Tonight started as usual, with the waiter being friendly and seemingly knowledgeable. After ordering drinks before dinner, he got the size of my margarita wrong but it wasn’t a big deal. We ordered our food and realized that we didn’t have napkins or silverware. Again, not a big deal. The food arrived pretty quickly, still no silverware or napkins but I asked the food server and he immediately handed me a few napkins and silverware. The original waiter returned and apparently noticed that my margarita was the wrong size and asked if I’d like another one of the right size and I said no, but I’d like another of the smaller size. He brought it fairly quickly and all was good and we started eating our meal.
A short time later, we all heard a loud popping noise and noticed that my margarita glass had somehow “exploded”, leaving the table soaked with margarita, ice and probably glass. My son’s 6 month old son was sitting very close to the glass but appeared fine. We moved him away from it to make sure he didn’t cut himself or get alcohol on his hands or clothes. I moved my food away and started trying to clean up. It was obvious that the “salad” portion of my fajitas was soaked with ice, glass and margarita but the meat portion looked ok. We told the waiter what had happened and he gave us a few napkins to clean up the table and asked if I wanted more of the “salad”. I declined and said that just a little bit of sour cream would be good. He didn’t help clean up our table and didn’t ask if we were ok. No concern for the six month old baby whatsoever. He didn’t even offer to bring me a replacement drink.
He brought the sour cream and then immediately started taking care of a couple of new tables near ours, never asking how we were or if everything was now ok, pretty much ignoring us. I tried to tell him a couple of times that we needed more napkins as melted ice and margarita were still dripping onto my and my daughter in law’s pants. He didn’t ask if I’d like a replacement margarita until after we asked for the check. As we waited for the check we were still very obviously cleaning up the ice and margarita from under plates, etc as it dripped onto our legs and feet.
When we left, I didn’t feel that I should be charged for the fajitas that I didn’t finish because they were wet and cold due to the “exploding” margarita. When I brought this up to the cashier, he was very quickly argumentative, stating that he had discussed the situation with the waiter and they could not comp my fajitas. The female manager was standing next to him and never questioned him or attempted to talk to us. I calmly explained the situation to him and explained that they would be losing loyal, reasonable customers over a $14 plate of fajitas. He said he didn’t care and that they would gladly prepare another fajita dish for me. As everyone else in my party had already eaten, I didn’t want it but my son said that yes. So, in conclusion, we received, with a lot of attitude, another fajita meal that I didn’t want. What blows my mind is that this was totally and easily avoidable and at the expense of some bad publicity and the loss of some loyal customers. Amazingly bad...
Read moreTL DR: Food 3-4 stars, service 3 stars, feeling rushed by whole staff 2 stars.. fYI: kitchen closes 30min before closing. .... Took my wife and daughter out for some mexican the other day. Before going we confirmed the resturant closed at 10. And thought since it was 8:45 we'd be able to enjoy our food, however we were rushed the entire night. We walked in the door at 9pm and from the moment we sat the waitress was nagging us to place our order. We checked and there were others in the resturant so maybe it was her. Ordered a fajita, enchiladas, & taco salad. However, the waitress kept forgetting items (refil chips/salsa, drinks, napkins, etc).
The salsa is an extremely mild tomatoe sauce, almost italian marinara, but the entrees tasted pretty good. Be warned the fajita meet is shreaded so the Chicken pieces looked like feta cheese. But again the taste was great. We even asked for another side of beans mid way through eating. It was then we learned the kitchen shut down at 9:30. Which meant no fried ice cream if we had wanted it. .. Around 9:45, another server came by and asked for our empty salsa canister. Not to refill it, mind you, but to bus it from the table. Again the kitchen was closed so we couldnt get a refill anyway. A few minutes later several of the lighted signed were turned off.. Not a flash like last call, but fully off like when the grocery store is closing. If that was not enough of a hint, all of the servers decided to hang out behind our booth talking about their plans for tomorrow. ... Recognizing the signs we finished eating and asked for the check. After paying we walked to our car and confirmed it was exactly 10pm. Not at all the relaxing experience we...
Read moreI have always loved their food even where they were at La Fiesta. So on my 50th birthday my family ask me where I wanted to I said there. Really none of my family likes to eat there but they agreed to go because that’s what I wanted to do. (There was about 15 of us.) First one of the margaritas that was ordered came out with a dead fly in it. Then a bunch of the orders was wrong. I ordered a gran burrito with chicken and beef. The order came out and I started eating it and realized there was no beef so I ask the waitress and she said yes there was so I continued eating and no beef so I asked again she said yes so I cut the burrito open and NO beef. After I ask the waitress I noticed the manager stopped and ask her what was wrong and she explained it to him. Next thing I know she brought me a plate of beef. Well I had cut it opened so my daughter ask her to make me a new one and they did. So we’re sitting there and they came out with the hat and the plate with sweet stuff on it singing happy birthday and the waitress takes the spoon dips it in the cool whip and smeared it on my nose. No problem. Then all of a sudden the manager came from behind and smacked my face with a whole pie is what it felt like. My husband has it all on video. So of course it humilated me in front of my family and friends it was so embarrassing. So of course my family said something to the manager about what he did and they told him I was upset and he basically said he didn’t care and he didn’t care if we ever come back there. So my review is not...
