Thirst & Ten — Restaurant in Middleburg Heights

I’d like to begin by assuring readers that this review is meant as a friendly heads-up, not a personal attack on Thirst and Ten. I’m sure the bartender has her reasons for her unique approach to customer service, and perhaps I simply caught her on an off day, though, judging by the atmosphere, I may not have been the only one.

Upon my arrival, I must have missed the “Do Not Disturb” sign, as Sharon seemed less than thrilled to see another customer. One might expect a greeting when entering a bar, but perhaps that’s an outdated custom. When I attempted to place my order, her curt response made it clear that I was interrupting something far more important than tending the bar.

Throughout my visit, Sharon’s enthusiasm for serving was, shall we say, refreshingly absent. I suppose expecting basic communication was a bit much on my part.

It was also hard not to notice Sharon’s effect on the overall vibe. The bar felt like a masterclass in how to make patrons feel invisible. If that’s your thing, you’re in for a treat. Other guests exchanged knowing glances. If invisibility is what you’re after, Sharon’s service is second to none.

Having worked in customer service myself, I understand it’s not always easy. Still, Sharon’s approach is certainly memorable, if not exactly what one might expect from a hospitality professional.

If you’re considering Thirst and Ten, just be aware: Sharon’s distinctive style might not be everyone’s cup of tea. I sincerely hope management takes note, but in the meantime, you might want to explore other options unless, of course, you prefer to be made to feel like an inconvenience.

Worst experience for my first time ever being there. The owner was very rude and unprofessional. I have never witnessed an experience that bad at a restaurant in my entire 37 yrs of life. And if I was a man I probably would've went farther than arguing with him. I will never go again and not recommend this place to noone. This is by far the best neighborhood sports bar I've ever been in! The food is ALWAYS AMAZING! The staff makes you always feel welcome, as does the other customers. (Which I can tell you from experience, that isn't always the case when you walk into a bar for the first time). Days, nights, or be it the weekend, you always get the same great service and food.
