If there was an option for not even giving one star, that would've been my choice.
I went there several times with my coworkers, it was usually nice until this visit on December 7th. The owner's nasty, disgusting attitude wasted my wife's and my time and money.
The restaurant charged me more than what I wrote on the receipt including tip which is my allowance, I called the restaurant at 4:30 pm after they opened (9th, Saturday) and they said they will call me back but never did, 4 hours later my wife called back because this is not right , they said they will call her back but never did, right before closing my wife got annoyed and called until they answered because they just hung up without saying a word at 9:11 pm. The owner finally answered and said basically "it's just 2 bucks",
we are not stealing", "what do you think it's Saturday and we are packed" and I ended up arguing and yelling at him. He just doesn't get it but only his business side. Dude, McDonald's and Walmart offer absolutely better CS than you do, when I found a dead mosquito on the bottom of my coffee cup, I called McDonald's and they said they will call me back during the week, and they did and apologized.
Interestingly, after tasted his disgusting attitude, I called my credit card company, they were surprised with his attitude and said it's stealing. It technically is stealing but was I pointing that out? I never said you are stealing, I said this is what happened and what's going on is what I asked and "just two bucks, we are busy, we are not stealing" are what you said. You said it's a simple mistake - clearly, someone who doesn't know how to read the number from 48 but 50, do you have an employee who needs go back to the kindergarten or do you need to at least take a business or economic class? Sure, let's say it's a mistake, but then did I make the mistake? You did. Your employee did. And if you were busy then you should've just said a simple sentence "we are really busy today, can I call you tomorrow?"
Oh, the moment writing this, is Sunday, more than a week after this happened and you still haven't called me nor my wife. Because it's just 2 bucks right? I don't care whether it's 2 cents or 200 bucks. Your employee charged my card without my permission and you said it's just 2 bucks, you are too busy to deal with your mistake. And you said that I gave you my card to pay, which is presumed that I allowed, right I agreed to pay what I wrote which is 48, not 50. Think properly and say correctly, head is not an accessory for glasses or hat.
I yelled at you because you argued with my wife who's ill, repeating your "business owner" side without the sense of the mistake made by you. I usually don't wish bad things especially business-wise because someone's family may be on that but yours, I do hope you have the 2 bucks in the end when the business hits the bottom with your...
Read moreVery unfortunate that I have to write this review because I was expecting something very different. This sadly has been my worst restaurant experience in years. We had tickets at eight for Haunting at the Ridge about three minutes away. After looking at the menu, we decided to come here for dinner. I was very excited because of all the great menu options.
The service was terrible from the start all around. We arrived at 6:15. There was two people in front of us. The hostess acknowledged us, but never took our name. A few minutes later, other people started coming in and she started taking their names and asking them if they wanted to sit outside. She never gave us that option. One of the people came in and started to debate whether or not they wanted to wait 20 minutes. She told them ”You can stay or go, it doesn’t matter to me.” I should have known right there to leave. We were seated at 6:30 which was not a bad wait. 6:45 our orders were taken. Our waitress did not come back to the table one time after bringing our drinks. Never checked on us, never let us know what was going on with the food. She came back at 7:28 with our appetizer. We asked her how long would it take for the rest of our food. She apologized and said it would be another 20 to 25 minutes. I didn’t understand how burgers take over an hour to make. We canceled the rest of the order.
I was excited about the hotdog. Another letdown. It was cold when I got it and the chili on top had no flavor. I’m not even sure if it was deep-fried. Definitely not worth the $14.50 price. I will say the fries were very good. They were the only bright spot of the night. They have a lot to offer, but I would never come back here due to...
Read moreI rarely post reviews online and have never reviewed a restaurant. But having had yet another outstanding meal at Blackbird Tavern, I think the time has come. So where to begin? Let’s start with the ambiance. This place has cool stuff everywhere you look, including classic rock photos and posters. As for the service, it is top notch. The servers are warm, efficient, knowledgeable, and seemingly enjoying their work. This contributes a great deal toward a positive dining experience. As does their Blood Orange Sangria, which packs a bigger punch than you would think. But the big story here is the food. We have had items from all over the menu, everything from the salads to the quesadillas to the lobster roll to the wings. The portions are large, the food is delicious, and the prices are fair. The fries are without doubt the best around and more than a little addictive. And oh, those burgers! I’ve been around 70+ years and don’t think I’ve had a better burger, ever. So there you have it. My first restaurant review. I’ve lived in CT for the past 17 years and only wish I had discovered the...
