Wayside Market — Restaurant in Middletown Township

My husband and I had a Large Holiday Party for the New Year 2025, January at our Home. Wayside Market did ALL the Catering and did a WONDERFUL JOB. Not only were they right on time with the delivery and caterer, but the Food was EXCELLENT-They set up and made sure EVERY detailed was perfect. Maria was so personal and cared about our Event. We ordered various foods knowing our Guests would consist of many families and food preferences. the Petite Gourmet Sandwiches, Fresh Seasonal Vegetable Crudité Tray, Antipasto Tray (ABSOLUTE FAVORITE), Hummus Platter, Chicken Milano, Chicken Fingers, Hot Roast Pulled Pork- OH MY!, Vodka Penne Pasta, Macaroni and Cheese, Saffron and Herb Seasoned Rice, Vegetable Pasta Salad, Caprese Salad and Dessert Trays. I can not say enough about the delicious food and the service we received from Maria. I highly recommend Wayside Market for any events. This was an Important Party to us personally and Wayside did an EXCELLENT Job. It was a LARGE PARTY and the food went which makes me happy. I met Lou the owner for the first time. He personally delivered EVERYTHING and made sure our set up was perfect.

I took a chance on this place as the reviews brought me in. sometimes that could be a good or bad thing to pay attention to reviews. That being said, I will give my unbiased opinion of my food purchase . Ordered the small cheesesteak, I took it out the bag and It was very light picking it up and then noticed not enough meat or should I say barely any meat on it at all especially paying $12-13 for it . The taste was OK. also ordered the chicken garden salad. Some of the greens were wilted. Onions and cucumbers were diced very small, that you could barely enjoy it, chicken was dry, overcooked and lacked flavor.that being said, I ordered a raspberry vinaigrette dressing that was very thick in it’s consistency that pouring it over your salad you would get a big chunk of dressing while eating it. Did not enjoy it . Ordered small cheese fry as well that barely had any fries in it at all and too thick of cheese that it couldn’t be poured on the fries .Lastly , ordered the Italian hoagie Which was OK as well and probably may have been the better option to choose over everything else. One of the best Italian hoagie experiences of my life. When you look for a quality Italian hoagie it starts with bread. Bread is just a vehicle used to transport the makings of the Italian hoagie to the individuals mouth. This bread is not just a vehicle. Soft, fresh, and tasteful. This bread is the kind that you can grab with your hands bite into and just know it is fresh.

Beyond my wonderful experiences with the bread on the Italian hoagie ordered, are the actual items that make up the Italian hoagie. The dressing, also highly likely to be homemade, contains just the correct amount of spices, and herbs to complement the complex yet satisfying Italian nature of the hoagie.

To top it all off, this thing is loaded up with lettuce, tomato, onion, and meat. The ham is shaved ham, again adding to not only the taste of the hoagie, but your experience as you are eating the hoagie.

We travel 45 minutes to come here and get this hoagie, every mile, every painful traffic jam is worth it.
