Apizza Heaven — Restaurant in Middletown

We ordered around 6:30 on a Friday night: 6 honey bbq wings, 6 garlic knots, mozzarella sticks, a large cheese pizza and a tiramisu. The total came to just under $50 and it was ready in about 25 minutes as promised.

The wings were delicious and crispy and the meat fell right off the bone - also the sauce wasn’t TOO sweet, which I find is an issue sometimes with honey bbq (will definitely try the garlic parm next time).

The garlic knots were twice the size of what I was expecting, and if I’m being CRITICAL - they could have used a little more garlic, but they were good nonetheless and came with a generous amount of marinara (enough for the knots and to dip the pizza crust).

The mozzarella sticks were pretty standard but were cooked perfectly - crispy on the outside with gooey cheese on the inside.

The pizza was the best we’ve found since moving to the area this past year: thin crust and cooked well done just the way we like it (if you don’t like your pizza well done make sure to ask for it lightly cooked).

The tiramisu I have yet to try, but it is made in house (as are all of the desserts) and looks very promising… will definitely be having that later.

The ambiance is casual with a few tables. The restaurant is clean and all of the staff were very friendly and personable. 10/10...

Soooo glad that I stopped to grab a bite here. This might be one of the best New Haven style pizzas in Connecticut, and I’ve tried a lot. Ordered mozzarella sticks and garlic knots to start and both were really good. Served with a big bowl of fresh marinara sauce. Big emphasis on fresh. You can taste the difference and this is quality sauce. Also ordered a small pepperoni pizza but it wasn’t small at all. Generously sized and very tasty. The crust was exactly how I like it, thin (but not too thin), crispy underneath and strong enough to hold the toppings without falling apart. Stayed crunchy even after several minutes, no sogginess. The cheese was fresh, had just the right amount of pull, not too salty, tasty and not overly greasy pepperoni and fresh sauce. Can’t ask for anything more. Ordered some cannoli (made fresh to order) to take home. Perfectly crunchy, the cream was exactly how it should be, not too thick or too sweet, the ends dipped in finely grated chocolate. Will definitely be back, and soon! One last thing, super friendly owner....

I stopped in today while traveling through Connecticut. I ordered a large cheese pizza- It was probably the most delicious pizza I ever tasted! It was delicious! Also, it was huge! Bigger than X-large pizzas I’ve gotten from other restaurants. The owner is a very nice guy. Very friendly. I planned to wait in my car until the pizza was ready, but we chatted the whole time. I enjoyed talking with him. I also love that he makes everything from scratch!! It’s so hard to find good food on the go nowadays that is truly made from scratch. I only regret that I don’t live closer! I will definitely stop back next time I’m in Connecticut! And thanks again for giving me recommendations on where to visit next time we...
