Well, if you want bad food, mediocre service and wine that tastes like vinegar, this is your place! I’m not sure what this company is known for, I guess the beer is good, but the one that was available to order was acceptable at best. The pretzels came out soggy, the salad looked like it had been chopped in a bowl like in a to go shop, and the porterhouse steak shown in the picture was tough. No steak knife given to cut through it, you just have to use the butter knife.. We ordered the dessert board, lord help us. Two different offerings of “gourmet” gummy bears, some nut chocolate thing that barely looked presentable, a snickerdoodle, which was unfortunately the best thing on the plate, a Baby Yoda looking chocolate chip and lemon (huh?) mini cupcake and a glorified chocolate covered little Debbie cake with some gold bubbles on top.. The dessert plate was “under the sea” themed. Maybe it should stay there. The pretzels we ordered were forgotten and we had to ask for them, the server brought out the bill before the dessert, and each plate seemed like it took forever to come out. They weren’t that busy, but maybe with the cookout they had, maybe they were all on their last legs? With so many places to eat, I would look elsewhere. I was hoping to like this place, but alas, we left unhappy.

This is the first brewery I've ever visited that is nestled within a winery! Personally, I think it's great that there's options for wine and beer lovers alike, so if you're going with a group, the odds are that there's something for everyone. If I could rate the food and beer independently of each other I would give the food a 4 and the beer a 3. It would average out to a 3.5 if Yelp allowed half stars, but alas! The beers I sampled in my flight didn't really hit the mark for me, minus the Vineyard Pilsner. I'm not into hoppy beers so the IPAs I sampled were too bitter for me. If you're into IPAs then you'll be fine. I had wished they had a wheat beer or a sour on draft, but maybe they will the next time. The food and service here is stellar. There's ample choices for snacking or a full meal. The pretzel is only $5 and it came out piping hot and perfectly salted. The Mac & Cheese was excellent too and I'd recommend that to anyone that comes in. It coming out in a cast iron dish, and you should have enough to bring home unless you're really hungry!

Okay so. I was nervous about going here during the pandemic. It was my birthday, and from some recent reviews, it seemed like Newport Vineyards had been struggling with the quality of their customer service. I made the reservation anyway and kept my fingers crossed. In the end it was a lovely time and the service was amazing. Our server's name was Noah, and he took great care of us. He returned many times to get our order in in a timely manner and even tried hard to squeeze in some more dessert for us at the end of our allotted time. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful day. Everyone took the mask requirements seriously and we definitely felt safe. Unfortunately the food is not the best. The only people in my party that had a good experience were those who ordered salads. I'm sure there are other pleasant options. The wine flights were great though! The lemon blueberry dessert I had was THE best dessert I've had since I can remember. Seriously! All in all, I left very happy and would recommend a visit.

This was our first time visiting the brewery and we will not be returning after our awful experience. We made reservations prior, as required, and showed up on time. Once shown to our table our waitress brought waters for most of the guests and then did not return for a significant amount of time to get a drink order from us. Once we did order drinks, the wait for them was extremely long. We then had to flag down our server again to order appetizers because she practically ran from our table after bringing drinks. We continuously had to flag down our server to place any sort of orders; drinks or food. At one point I went to the bar myself to get drink refills, all while we watched our waitress walk around us. We eventually got to order meals and again waited an atrocious length of time for them to arrive. We waited so long for our food that we were able to go to the gift shop and leisurely walk around for quite some time. It was at this point that we were about to pack it up and leave. Our food came out at the same moment we were about to cancel our meals and they were wrong. Two steaks were ordered medium rare and both came out medium well/well done; unacceptable for a $28.00 meal! I sent my meal back to the kitchen and asked that it be removed from my bill because I did not want to wait another hour for it to come back to me. When the manager came to ask what was wrong, I explained that it was cooked incorrectly, she then began to argue with me that, "the kitchen staff checked it and it was indeed medium well." ..... That's not what I ordered. My husband also spoke with the manager prior to this about the wait and she blamed it on the wedding they were hosting and continued to argue with him and make excuses for the missteps since we arrived. It was not our fault that a wedding was being hosted and the restaurant was not staffed correctly. It is also extremely inappropriate for the manager to be arguing with guests about their experience. We were there for a celebration and our entire night was ruined by this experience. We didn't leave until 8:20pm. That's 2 hours and 20 minutes past our reservation.....interesting for a place who charges $25 per person if you miss your reservation. We will not be returning ever to this establishment and will not recommend anyone else to...

Went today with my wife and another couple. Location is fantastic. We were there to do a wine tasting and there was a 20 minute wait so we decided to order drinks and go out to the garden area. The wait was way shorter and our tasting was ready as we got our drinks. The girl at the counter was very nice and told us we could come back when our drinks were finished. We had a very nice time outside, sipping our drinks playing some Cornhole and enjoying the vineyard. When we were done we went right on to the tasting and it was again a really enjoyable time. I'm not much of a wine person but the bartender was very knowledgeable and friendly so I did enjoy what I tried (Cider was my favorite).

After the tasting we went to the Taproot restaurant to have a late lunch. Short wait, not too bad. This is where I wasn't totally thrilled. My wife got the BLT and loved it. My friend's wife got the burger and was thrilled it was on a Bolo and said it was delicious. He got the clam flat bread. He didn't realize it had onions and picked them off without complaint. He said it was good but was expecting more clam. I got the Ooey Gooey Grill Cheese and added tomatoes. It was neither ooey or gooey and the tomatos were end pieces so every bite they popped out the back. It was ok but I would not get it again. The other couple has been a few other times and said the winery restaurant is better but it was...

Really disappointing! Used to love the food and wine experience at Brix but went to Taproot today for lunch and not great. Arrived but were told we could not sit until certain time. Weird! Tables were available! We of course waited…. Couple who came in two min later were told they couldn’t be seated till thirty min later. Seems like reservations are a must but only at half hour intervals even for walk ins when there was room. Didn’t quite get that. My husband, who has a severe dairy allergy, asked re the roll for burgers and waiter said he’d find out and return. Husband made it clear that depending on rolls (brioche is often used in restaurants and has dairy and he thinks gluten free, often the only substitute tastes awful) he’d make decision. Server never returned and ordered the burger…. When asked re roll, he wasn’t sure other than noting they’d make substitution. Still not an answer! He got burger, said it was ‘ok’… nice they had vegan cheddar. Looked like gluten free roll to me (smaller size) but server said dairy free. ???? I got salad - flavors were different given the variety of spiced nuts (all sweet would work but these weren’t)… would not come again - seems like the restaurant is catering to tourists and not locals. I do like some of the wine but don’t have to eat there to drink that. There are better...
