The Jug — Restaurant in Middletown

We have heard from so many people that the Jug was a must try when in Middletown, OH. And I must say I agree! Famous for their smash burgers, I chose to order "The Jug Boy." I would say it is the equivalent of a Frisch's Big Boy. Made exact same way: 2 patties (totaling 1/4 pound I believe), middle bun, shredded lettuce, cheese and their tarter sauce. Tarter sauce is sweet so a little different than Frisch's. They also have an assortment of other burger choices, along with, chicken sandwiches, hot dog, chili dog, fries (crinkle or waffle), onion rings, shakes, floats, ice cream, coke products, etc...Some might say it's a little pricey but for portion size and quality I think its worth it. Example: Jug Boy $4.58 and add additional $4.50 to make it a combo (fries & soda). So $10+ tax...not terrible. They also have kids meals for family's with kids. Outdoor picnic style seating. Orders can be made online, drive thru or with a server at outdoor seating area. They will even bring food to your car if you have a pickup order, online order or want to eat in your car. Well The place has potential. The good is that the service was on the spot, Although you might want to wave if you're parked next to a SUV As the server might not see you which I saw happen, not to me but somebody else. I was going for the root bear stand experience. My order wasA double Bacon cheeseburger Onion rings and a root beer. Out of root beer. I got my order and Is they swapped fries out for onion rings as they were out of onion rings. Visually the Burger looked good but when I popped up in the bun There was one piece of bacon. They did compensate me with a lot of fries which would have Had great potential if they would have somehow got me some of their homemade ketchup . ..Hines 57 packets . I will say the Burger was tasty Even for it's faults. I'm sure it could be better but as a small business I can see the jug It's struggling a bit I hope...

I asked them specifically not to put lettuce on the kids burgers and she said “don’t worry they don’t come with lettuce” and they had lettuce on them anyways.. I took them all the way back there to get them remade because it was a bunch of tiny shreds of lettuce mixed in with the sauce and stuck to the cheese so I wasn’t going to pick it all off I spent 45$ there.. So they picked it off handed me the same burgers back that are cold and still have lettuce on them and the toppings were all screwed up. Of course I didn’t realize till I got home because I didn’t open them up and check them so I had to go all the way back and the girl sits and lies straight to my face and says “I didn’t realize they didn’t remake them” but I watched her stand in there with them the whole time they were picking lettuce off...
