Veracruz Cafe - Midlothian, TX — Restaurant in Midlothian

My friend has been recommending this place to me for about a year now! I finally decided to give it a try and drive the 45 minutes out to get to it.

Our party of three visited yesterday (Monday) around noon. There were a few patrons but no lunch rush so we were greeted and seated immediately. Our hostess as well as our waiter were very prompt and kind.

We shared some chips & queso and WoW - just tasting that I knew the food would be amazing. The chips are some of the best I've had! & That was just the chips. My friend ordered the beef nachos and a strawberry margarita which she says were great. I could not decide so I had the sampler which comes with bottlecaps, beef nachos, chicken quesadillas, some more queso & jarrochitas. I also had a skinny margarita. The kiddo had a kids soft taco meal. All of our food was simply delicious - there is no other word.

Our whole experience was just great! We even had some free entertainment when some ladies at the bar started to have a screaming argument. All jokes aside, I only mention it bc I was grateful at how the staff handled the situation. They were kind yet firm and quckly de-escalated the situation.

I will definitely be coming back even if it means driving the 45 minutes just to...

Okayyyyy.....so this is our first visit to a foreign country. Jk....but first visit here to Veracruz Cafe and I will say my wife and I were very impressed. Not to take away expectations to a new spot but seriously the bar is set rather hi by me when it comes to traditional Mexican food and this location was Excellent. My son referred us to this place if we are ever in Midlothian. Great food! Great food! 👍 Wife had the chicken Flauta plate with side of black beans and rice and side of sauce. So, the flautas were blue corn tortillas fried crispy enough to enjoy! The black beans served in a round tortilla chip bowl were Great. Flavor was amazing! The chicken in the flautas had a unique flavor and bursting with taste! Recommend! Now I had the Molé with traditional chicken breast.....but...the mole was sweat and tasty. My plate came with side of rice and vegetables. The mole sauce did have the expected spice of heat but the tolerable kind of heat. Great serving size! Just remember that these dishes are rooted in a different region of Mexico where spices get a good mixture love. Highly recommend this...

I treated a friend for lunch and was extremely disappointed. My friend ordered an L5 and was not happy with the quality of the food. She asked if she could exchange for something else and was told “No”. Our waiter nor any level of management offered to make it right which left me and my friend extremely unhappy and uncomfortable. My food was okay but I’ve had better at the other location.

The atmosphere of the place was muggy and humid. I had to bring in my fan from my vehicle to cool off. It felt like the AC was not working properly.

As we were leaving, we bumped into another customer who was leaving due to being dissatisfied. She mentioned the wait staff through away her food while she was in the restroom. The wait staff nor management didn’t offer to make it right they just handed her the bill.

As a fellow business owner, I understand you cannot make everyone happy but we have a duty to at least offer solutions to help make things right. I don’t think I will ever patron this location. I will continue to patron the...
