In the past six months I have had the same bad experience which makes me wonder if the restaurant is under new management, the owner doesn't care anymore or the business is in need of money desperately. On my last two visits, I wasn't given the opportunity to try the item cooked again, pick something else off the menu or have the item removed from my check. I decided to try something different so I ordered the chicken wings. I took one bite of the wing, the wing was so hard and dried out I couldn't even swallow it. I showed the bartender the wing. She took the plate to the staff members behind the bar, showed them and went to the kitchen with the plate. While finishing the rest of my meal I was never offered to try a new bash of wings, something different off the menu or my money back. My second visit, I ordered the fried green tomatoes and crab soup. The tomatoes were so thinly slice that after frying them there was nothing left. The crab soup turned green because it had so much leafy thyme in it and tasted like eating leaves. The bartender/waitress stated the chef was a little "heavy handed on the thyme today". Again, I wasn't offered to try another bash of fried tomatoes, something else off the menu or my money back. My recommendation to you is if you don't mind getting served something terrible, not offering to make it better or getting your money then this is the place to be. I have had great food in the past such as tuna nachos, fried shrimps or hamburgers that these last two visits has put a sour taste...
Read moreThe one time we are here since it opened, the food was mediocre at best. A far cry from its predecessor. However, I would have considered stopping by for the occasional rest stop as we pass by. The building (before it was Melody's) has memories for my wife and I. It is where we had our wedding reception after our "biker" wedding down the road. My wife and I are quite involved in the local motorcycle community, and if you are a local, you already know how much the local bikers (specifically the military support motorcycle clubs and organizations) do for the community. Recently a military support organization (who is also a motorcycle organization) approached management at Melody's to see if it could be a stop on a fund raiser. The reply from Melody's was sickening to say the least. They said that since opening they are trying to clean their image that the bikers have "sullied", and they want nothing to do with ANY motorcycle organization.
Really? After all that has been contributed to the community? I could understand if there really had been problems in the past, but going back the 8 years I have been here, there hasn't been a single incident, fight, rowdiness, or anything where the cops would have to have been called to that location. So how exactly did we "sully" the building's image?
Melody's just lost a LOT of business as this news spreads throughout the community. With any luck, another establishment will soon be in Melody's place, one that will help the community, not...
Read moreThis place is amazing! I loved the vibes as soon as I walked in. They have paintings on the wall for sale, a jukebox on your way to the bathrooms, and an arcade to the left when you walk into the restaurant! They have a bar area with every kind of drink, ever, on your right as you walk into the restaurant.
Did I mention the bathrooms? Well, they are absolutely pristine. They have these cool chic blue sinks that are made from marbled stone that resembles lapis lazuli! It's cooler in the bathroom than in the restaurant which is something that I liked a lot.
The food was (and always is), cooked to order. This was my first time here but my husband used to come alone all the time and he said that's the main thing he loved about this restaurant venue. The meals are definitely filling!! We received burgers as big as our faces.
The only thing that could have been a little better is the service. It is family owned and I can appreciate that! Our waitress was very sweet! We did have to ask a few times for different things and look around for our waitress quite a bit. However, I tipped more than 20% because it's so important to do that!
They also have paintings for sale on the walls and the prices are VERY generous for quality stuff! The only thing I'd recommend is that the sides of the canvases get painted as well so no white area is showing and it looks completely 3-D! We love our painting and will cherish it for many moons!
Thank you guys a lot for a...
