I ordered the Mexican Plate and, figuring it would be a tiny portion, also three tamalies. Unfortunately they were out of tamalies so I got three tacos, and added some flan for a late night dessert. I stay in Milbridge occasionally for work but had never tried Vazquez Mexican Takeout until now. To my surprise many of the folks in the kitchen were speaking Spanish and (I assume, perhaps wrongly) appear to be of Mexican descent. Not that that should matter at all, and it doesn't, but my expectations of great food really soared. I have to say I wasn't disappointed in the least. Wow! My first impression is that clearly I only needed to order a couple of tacos and maybe some sides. The Mexican Plate was a huge amount of food accompanied by handmade soft corn tortillas. The beef was like some kind of pulled brisket maybe. The frijoles were really tasty too. I couldn't finish it all and still have room for a couple of soft pork tacos. Read moreWhere to start .. We met the owners while swimming. He gave helped us out giving tips on the local stuff instead of just the tourist areas. Being from a farm and all about home grown local stuff this was the place for us. The beef supreme tacos were really good. Fresh cooked beef so tender and easy to chew with tomatoes sour cream and lettuce. The steak burrito was huge. Stuffed full. Again with very tender meat. The steak quesadilla I ordered for my 3 year old as they are typically easier to eat. It was definitely easy to eat however it was so big itll feed her for 2-3 meals 🥙🌯🌮
The banana split was a pile of heaven. Lots of toppings and sauces and oh so good.

We ordered a Mexican plate, 2 tacos, nacos supreme, and a pork flat bread that I don't remember the exact name. Very generous portions!
Everything was solidly good. 2 types of salsa- green or red. Red was extra spicy. The thing we liked the least was the rice.
You order at the counter inside and they call your number when your food is ready. Can eat inside or at a table outside. We chose a table outside.
The portapotties at the edge of the parking lot are a little off putting, but they don't have a restroom inside so.....not much can be changed about that.
$45 for all that food - it was honestly enough for 8 people.
Their story is interesting, too, as they started as a taco truck for seasonal workers and have grown to have a building....
