This review is based on my visit for the Brewed in Michigan 2012 Craft Beer Tasting. The restaurant itself is actually pretty nice; it has a good menu, friendly staff, and comfortable ambiance. However, I had such a bad time at their beer tasting event that I refuse to ever go to Bakers again.

Bakers advertised a free shuttle from downtown Milford to the event, so my friends and I showed up at the promised time for the first shuttle pickup. And Waited. And waited. When the shuttle finally arrived, it was 1/2hr late. Once we got to Bakers we had to wait in a Cedar Point sized line that zig-zagged across the parking lot.

After getting inside Bakers it became apparent that the event was extremely oversold. It was like going into a slaughterhouse; people were packed shoulder to shoulder, there was no place to sit down, and the roar of people talking was deafening. It was a battle to just reach the beer vendors, and they poured barely a few ounces into the sample cups.

The food offered at the event was really great, and came in large portions. However, remember that the main point of this event was to SAMPLE BEERS. I would have paid double the admission price if the event hadn't been oversold, I got decent beer samples, and a place to sit down.

I highly suggest going to other venues if you want to go to attend an enjoyable beer...

I have eaten at Bakers many times over the last decade. Went there for my birthday 6/26. The food was horrible. Appetizers served on a cookie sheet. Not very classy Bakers. Hard, dry pita chips, corn chips were bland, cheese sauces were lacking flavor. The server was not friendly and was unattentive after we told her we were not ready to order a few times. Until the last 1/2 hour we were there, there was only 1 other table occupied. So can not blame any of this on a packed or busy dining room. The Diablo Chicken pasta (which has always been excellent in the past and the reason i chose Bakers for my birthday dinner) had NO flavor, was watery and I'm sure Ragu makes a better Alfredo sauce than whatever it was that I was served. For $19, a simple pasta with blackened chicken entree should be excellent. I asked if there was a birthday discount and was told "SOMETIMES we give a free sundae" and she looked at my friend, assuming it was HER birthday, and asked if she wanted a sundae but didn't bother to ask me. My left over pasta was not edible as a day later as it was pasta swimming in milk colored water. I will not be back. McDonalds would have been a better option. Bakers you used to be classy but not any more. You...

Very very good food. The loaf of bread is outstanding. Prices are a bit higher than most great pub places I stop at but still within reason for families. I stopped in cause their sign said Acoustic Band Sat at 7 being a musician (sing) I decided to stop.) The wait staff is well trained but I had to get out of my booth after few bites of my soup to ask they heat it up...luke warm after I had eaten a bit. When it came back the person bringin it told me I heated for 45 seconds. It was a BOWL of Seafood Bisque and bit too sweet AGAIN not warm enough for me even though I told MY WAITRESS that I like my soup very hot. I Just asked for carry out containers and brought it home. I do find it common that waitresses and waiters are much more attentive if they are serving tables with MEN, Several hot girls that are drinking and of course out of necessity Large Groups.. OLD ladies out andb about should not have to ask Do I go up to bar to get a drink AND etc etc. That being said I may stop by here again on my way home FROM OTHER SPOTS IN OR NEAR MILFORD. More likely cruise the place when they have the annual HUGE AUTO...

Dear Gordon Ramsey, Please help Bakers. What a disgusting experience. There is an odd smell as soon as you enter. The fixtures are filthy. The water smelled of rotten eggs. The soda cups were hard red plastic, appeared chewed on, and smelled of cleaning products. This is the first time I have eaten somewhere that I actually couldn’t have anything to drink with my meal. The appetizer plates had old food stuck on them. When I saw the red gold ketchup I knew we were in trouble. The food was horrendous. The prime rib sandwich meat was closer to dog food quality then prime rib. The bourbon chicken pizza was super sweet and just weird tasting. The tater tots tasted freezer burnt. My daughters chicken tenders were the only edible thing. We had to get ice cream after to get the taste out our mouths. I didn’t take the left overs home out of respect for my dog’s pallet. Hoping we don’t get sick tonight. Possibly the most disgusting meal I have ever had. Gordon, please help.

Our first visit was great. Our waiter was attentive and sweet. The drinks were reasonably priced and tasted great. The Cobb salad was HUGE. The Diablo Chicken pasta was seasoned very well, just enough heat. Even the kids chicken tenders were well breaded and cooked. Didn't taste frozen! The second time I visited for lunch and decided to go with a soup and salad. Maurice salad was great. My issue was either the soup - it's not on the menu so I asked if they had soup, they said yes and that was that. It was a Lobster bisque and tasted great but was a little on the warm/not hot side. However, the cost was kind of insane - $10. I don't know of many, if any, restaurants that offer soup for that much unless it's specifically meant for an entrée. If the cost was listed on the menu I would use made a different choice or just not ordered it at all. The flavor of everything is great but that left us with a bad taste in our mouth

Located in the small town of Milford, this place is known for family friendly Americana dining. We came for a late lunch on a Friday. There was only 1 server but our drinks and food came out pretty fast. They have a kids menu along with daily specials. We tried the jumbo pretzel which came with 3 sauces..very good ..served nice and warm. Also had the 4 Italian cheese bread which was not great. Dry and seemed it was just Italian seasoning and very little melted cheese. I have had better. Also tried the fried chicken ranch roll up which was tasty but could have used more chicken in my opinion. My wife and daughter split their chicken salad daily special which they said was delicious and just enough to share. Huge beer selection along with daily drink specials. For a casual dining experience ..Bakers is a good place to try.
