China Taste — Restaurant in Milford

We are very good cooks ourselves and have also run very successful restaurants and we are now retired .This little place is located in the same plaza as Redners and is only take out not sit down food place . Only supply food to go .Small family working hard to make ends meet and it’s so good to see hard working little businesses trying their best. Been here twice before and we were pleased to have found a place that sold good food but after the third visit here my wife had bought a chicken dish and she suffered bad food poisoning from the dish . Hygiene , cleanliness of washing hands with soap every time and making sure that the chicken is safe and kept at the right temperature is very important in this industry and you cannot take short cuts because the customers suffer . The food is probably the best Chinese food in the area. However, the service is not good at all. I phoned in an order and waited one hour and fifteen minutes in the restaurant and it still was not ready. I repeatedly asked the cashier where my order was and she kept saying it was almost ready. I finally left empty handed. What good is quality food if they can not have it prepared and ready for the customer? I called China Taste when I returned home (without my food) and told them I had left. She said she was sorry. I said to her she lost a good customer. Not only that, my food (if they ever prepared it) had my phone number on the order. A good restaurant would call that number with an apology and a complimentary dinner at no or a discounted charge. Ordered chow mein and got home it was just soup and slime like cabbage? Called to get replaced with the “noodle chow mein “ that is shown on the online menu, and was told I was wrong and that’s not what chow mein is. Argued that the definition online was also wrong. Definition online was stir fry noodle but I’m an ignorant person that doesn’t know traditional chow mein? I gave up arguing. Wasn’t going to get my money back or the food replaced. Good luck.
