Sontheimer's Country Bakery — Restaurant in Millcreek Township

Sadly where I live there are NO decent bakeries left, so I've accepted that I will have to drive at least an hour to get good dessert. Let me tell you, this place is worth the drive!! I've been here only once but I am planning to come back soon, everything I tried was great, but the orange crescents and the sweet maple rolls are 😍😍😍 I might have to just get a dozen of those when I visit next because they are irresistable. Clark's Donuts are the best ones available in my area and they're decent but they have NOTHING on the sweets from Sontheimer's!!!

The family that owns this bakery are sooo friendly and I was shocked at how low the prices are for the amazing quality you get. Can't wait to visit again and fill my car up with delicous desserts and bread.

PSA: They only accept cash here, make sure you bring your friends Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson and Jackson with you. In my case I probably need to bring Benjamin too, because I just want to bring the whole menu home with...

Amazing pastries, affordable prices, many choices of baked goods and breads, helpful staff, and friendly conversations! What else can you ask for from a family-owned, neighborhood bakery. We are new to the area and visited this bakery for the first time. A few family members joined us at the counter, including the grandmother, and told us all about places to visit in Erie, as well as mentioned the family and bakery history. Several generations are working together, leaving their mark on this neighborhood. It's a quaint place with an unusual decor. I loved all the Pillsbury Dough-boy decorations, kids drawings (probably from grandchildren), family photos that were proudly displayed in a display case on the wall. all morning I have tried to call this bakery to order 60 (yes I said 60 dozen rolls for a business party I am having the first weekend of Dec, the bakery does not even have the courtesy to answer the phone ( it was during the time they said they are open) I was not even able to leave a message for them to call me back. I tried at least ten time to reach sontheimers, no answer. I guess they really don't need any more business. Needless to say I called another bakery. So...
