I ate here with my husband on Tuesday, April 16th for an early dinner. It was fantastic!! I am so excited to have a new go-to Thai restaurant in Erie, especially one that is open 7 days a week until 10pm.
We had the Fried Tofu and Fried Wontons as appetizers, and both were very good. Both appetizers were hot and fresh, and the filling in the wontons was spot on.
I had the Pad Thai with vegetables, and the staff was very courteous and made sure to check if I was able to also have egg and fish sauce in the dish (I can eat both these thing as I am not a vegan, but appreciate that they asked!). I got my dish "Mexican Hot" (2 chilies on the menu for spice level), and it was delicious. They also brought a selection of spices to the table to add more spice to a dish if you would like.
My husband had the Khao Soi Noodle Soup and it was fantastic. It was a dish neither of us has had before and we were both glad he ordered it. It was delicious, and very fun to try something new.
It was easy to find parking, seeing as we went on a Tuesday at 4:00pm. The restaurant has a semi-separate parking lot from Sara's - the lot is divided with a cone barrier and has a different entrance which is great. They also have a very cute patio that will hopefully be open when the weather gets a little warmer. The decor in the restaurant was beautiful and the place was spacious, very clean, and well staffed.
I am excited to go back and try the other menu items that I have...
Read moreMy wife and I moved to Erie last year from a large metropolitan area that had an abundance of Thai restaurants (and as a bonus, our next door neighbor was a Thai chef). We’ve been looking for what we would call “authentic” Thai food, and at Thai Taste Cuisine, we found it! We just got back from our first visit there; we tried some traditional dishes with which we are familiar: summer rolls, larb kai, beef salad, drunken noodles. We ordered these dishes knowing there would be leftovers; they have a good lunch special but we wanted to sample a little more variety. The summer rolls were fresh and flavorful, and came with the traditional and delicious peanut sauce; the larb kai and beef salad were very good, but mild (next time we’ll ask for slightly spicier versions). The drunken noodles, with chicken, were delicious and packed some heat, along with a wonderful somewhat smoky taste to them. So, our first impression of Thai Taste Cuisine is excellent, and we can’t wait to go back and sample some more of their menu! If you’re headed to Presque Isle State Park, Thai Taste Cuisine is right before the entrance to the Park, and you could certainly get plenty of food for a picnic...
Read moreWe liked the cool atmosphere among the otherwise hot day. Lunch there gave us a nice break. The meals we ordered were very good. Softshell crab was an interesting novelty which I have not tried before. Thai lemonade was a bit too sweet to my personal taste. And I liked lemongrass soup (the portion is small though). The service was excellent and friendly. The three stars are only due to the fact that our boys were not allowed to join us with their fries and onion rings that they preferred for lunch and bought in the place nearby. A pity, as it is not like we came in with an outside food right away and asked to bring it in. We sat down, placed our order which was two courses, drinks, dessert (not just "cup of tea") and only then asked if we could invite our sons with their food. The server asked the manager, but we received a refusal. Well, we respected the decision and had our lunch separately. Which spoiled the overall impression of the place as out of 25-30 tables only 3 were occupied,...
