Old Clinton Bar-B-Que — Restaurant in Milledgeville

My family stopped here because we saw the sign that said "Best BBQ in GA" and we were sorely disappointed. The green beans and Brunswick stew was straight out of a can. The only appetizing thing that my family received was a corn dog.The meat was dry and we received a very small serving. The BBQ sauce was like water, very thin, and they only offered one type of sauce. When I informed the man who was taking my order, he acted very impatient with me and did not seem to want to wait for me to look over the menu. A lady employee came by and she was very patient and helpful. The decor in the restaurant was typical and the women's bathroom was extremely hot and smelly. Also, I am a germaphobic, so I wipe down tables anytime I go into a restaurant and when wiping this table, the white wipe came away black....

A Central Georgia Institution. A Old Clinton BBQ sandwich stands alone as a unique distinctive flavor all its own. I know Im in Central Georgia when I dine at Old Clinton BBQ. Its not Texas, Kansas, or Memphis style, its Old Clinton BBQ, a flavor all its own. Can’t compare with other BBQ. Its the sauce, the meat, I love the BBQ sandwich with slaw on the white bread bun. The vinegar red pepper sauce blends with the pork for that distinctive flavor. What an accomplishment to be a local, independent, successful restaurant for generations. Thank God they survived the COVID pandemic when so many local businesses did not! I have enjoyed Old Clinton BBQ for 40 consistently...

Well, consider me disappointed. This is the kind of joint a bunch of old men hang around on a Monday evening, and the stench says so. Cigarettes and denture cream and bbq. Weird. I got chicken tenders, fries and green beans. A pretty simple meal. Not easy to ruin, you’d think… it was definitely frozen tenders and fries dropped in for a minute and some canned green beans. Not to mention they had store bought honey mustard, not even homemade?? I was thinking it would be authentic, but no. The service was alright. They also had no beef options, it’s all pork (which I can’t eat). Annoyed and won’t be returning. We need better bbq...
