I really loved this place and the close proximity to my house. It really made for an easy and convenient quick meal for the family that I could drive to get without getting grub hub and the insane fees. However as a business owner in the food industry I can say I would want to know if I was losing $50-$90 orders due to poor management. In the past two weeks I have tried to come twice. Once I drove to way back when it was âopenâ online only to be closed. 12/30/21 Frustrating because I could have drove to a more reliable business elsewhere to grab dinner instead of going back out of way again to go into town for food. Today I tried to place an online order through the way back website for $60 worth of food and it was off. This was at 7:30. So I call in to make sure they were open before driving in to place a big order and I just get the remark, â well you better come soon because we close at 8â. If the owners can afford to take financial losses like this good for them because I know my business certainly canât. If it was off for staffing a simple, âsorry but we currently have it off because we do not have staffing to keep up with online ordersâ and I still would have been a loyal customer but the backend remark really got me. Donât be in customer service if you donât know how to speak to customers. Simple. However if they are unaware of the issue, a serious letting go and rehiring needs to happen because they lost a very loyal customer tonight that âorderedâ frequently for a family of 7 and will continue to do so if employees decide upon themselves when to stop taking orders. Oh well, $60 to tropical...
Read moreThe owner of the Wayback Burger was extremely rude to me about an order. It was made through Uber Eats as Iâve always done. 45 mins later the driver calls me and said that he couldnât pickup the order bc they are closed and they never got my order. He asked me to cancel it, I said the restaurant or he should cancel it. He had no answer for me. Then I called the restaurant and spoke to a female staff member, she couldnât help me so she got âthe ownerâ on the line. He reiterated âthey didnât get the order in their systemâ. I said fine, but please cancel the order for me, if I cancel it it will look like I didnât want it. He said that isnât how we do it, I said I want a refund bc I have no food. He said thatâs your problem isnât it. I said I am complaining on UberEats and social media. He said good go ahead. Needless to say Iâm furious. Then I checked the Uber eats app and the driver cancelled it and said he couldnât get in contact with me. Brian if your reading this- not cool at all. This behavior is unacceptable and ridiculous. Why lose a customer over some appâs snafu? Any reasonable person/business owner would cancel the order that wasnât fulfilled because of the app service they used to get customers âmessed upâ the timing, instead of letting a customer lose money. BTW- on a $28 order I tipped close to $15 and donated the $2 to the restaurant for...
Read moreThis is one of the best smash burgers in the county! The burger fresh not frozen beef and it is not smashed so thin as to be dried out. It can be customized with everything you can think of on a burger and all the toppings are fresh. The buns for every sandwich are grilled before serving as well.
The sides here are amazing, and include perfectly cooked french fries, excellent whole onion rings, and sweet potato fries if thatâs what youâre looking for.
Wayback Burgers is one of the few restaurants that has authentic real ice cream milkshakesâthe ice cream is not a soft serve of any type. I would highly recommend them, but you may need to use a spoon as theyâre very thick and delicious.
The restaurant also has a fountain drink with free refills and is usually playing ESPN throughout the day on their TV.
The only real criticism of the restaurant is it has limited seating. As everything is made to order, it will take about 15 to 20 minutes for your food to be made. It is absolutely worth the weight, but waiting can sometimes be inconvenient due to the lack of seating options. Every meal is now served in a bag, with the expectation that it can be taken to go, perhaps with the limited seating in mind.
Visit Wayback outside of the busy lunch or dinner rush and you will not be...
