Buckalew's on Main — Restaurant in Milner

Great small town place to stop for a bite! We went there at the height of the supper hour on a Saturday and had a really good meal.

I had the brisket plate and asked for lean cuts and that is exactly what I got. Very tasty! Fried okra was also a treat, and plenty of it. Cole slaw is fairly wet and not sweet at all, more like I'm used to. The tea was good.

Their house BBQ sauce is really a star. It is sweet with a hint of smoke. I also tried the Carolina mustard BBQ and the vinegar, which reminds me of the sauce where I'm originally from in the hills of NC. They were both really good too. I didn't try the spicy, but those who did liked it, and they also have Alabama white BBQ sauce.

Super friendly folks here! They had a band playing live music out back and I told the lady who appeared to own the place "Thank you for doing this," and she replied "It's what we do. It's Southern hospitality." 'nuff said, there you...

I came into the restaurant on 80/15/2025 and was standing in line the young cashier never looked my or acknowledged me that was there. I assume the people that came in behind me were her family and friends she started talking and taking their orders. I just stood there not being rude to see how long it would take her to help me after she had toke about three orders then she asked how can I help you! The service was bad experience to me and she needs a talking to about customer service because money doesn’t have a color. I was paying just like everyone else I know I am only one customer but I am sure not the only person she has or will...

I love their ribs. Ist time, personally, going to get food from hear. and They REALLY need to address the small area where everyone has to order (dine-in & to-go) orders. Very disorganized. I had ppl come in after me, with a crowd of other patrons, go right in front of us and order their food for 6 ppl who were apparently waiting outside. Cashier saw this, but I guess being so busy (1 register) didn't choose to say anything. After I ordered I saw this same scenario happen again. And don't even get me started on trying to get condiments at the only, inconveniently, located station BUT GREAT, ACTUALLY, THE BEST, BABY BACK...
