Jean's Diner — Restaurant in Minden

I’ve been in Minden working now for two weeks. Two days of those two weeks, we decided to cater to other establishments, big mistake on my part. I live in south Louisiana where we take food very serious, but I’m originally from north Louisiana and had forgotten how great the food is in this area. Thanks to Jeans restaurant I’ve been reminded of how much I miss it. I really just can’t say enough about how great the food is. On some days my co-worker and I could not decide, so we would buy two dinners. The only complaint I can share is to many choice ! The food is made from scratch with lots of choices to choose and the price is unbelievable. I’m so proud to see a soul food restaurant that was welcoming and pleasant to dine in. Very delicious food and excellent customer service. I am working in Minden for two weeks, and wanted home cooked Soul Food. We tried three places, and Jean’s Diner is the BEST! We have been eating at Jean’s every day, and I highly recommend it!!! The food taste just like my Grandma use to make! Ms Jean is the sweetest lady and she makes sure you are a happy customer. The best Chicken and Dumplings, Turnip Greens, Fried and Smothered Pork Chops, Fried Chicken, Candied Yams, Catfish Filets, Potato Salad, Cabbage, Field Peas, Peach Cobbler, etc. and the Sweet Tea is perfect! Just wish they'd update their menu/ hours etc online. Also would like for there to be a set menu lunch special for each day that coordinates with the menu sheet that they pass out. It's frustrating to have to call everyday to find out what's really on the menu for the day and be ready for a certain dish then to be dissapointed that they don't have it that day.
