Absolutely horrible. Service is horrible!!! I spit my food out. I ordered the enchiladas poblanos ... literally looked like chocolate pudding on my enchiladas and I LOVE me some Mole sauce... the waiter came to us once to get our drink order and another to order our food and NEVER came back. We had to flag down another woman to get us our check. We were not the only table to flag down the same woman. (She was very sweet and friendly). There was knots flying everywhere. Never again will we be going there. Literally the only reason we stepped into this place was because our favorite Los Tres Portillos had lost power. Do not sleep on Los Tres Portillos. The restaurant is wonderful! The food is incredible and the service is even better. Stop wasting your time at...
Read moreWe stopped here after a wrestling match at Louisa Middle School. We were seated immediately and given chips and salsa. With a hungry wrestler, we went through 3 baskets of chips, but they kept them coming. We've been to at least 15 different Mexican restaurants, but this place had the best food. I always get Arroz con Pollo, and normally, the chicken is slightly dry without a lot of flavor. But at Sabor A Mexico, the chicken was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. My husband said the same about his shrimp. Normally, they're rubbery, but not here. He also said they have the best salsa he's ever had, it had a hint of a smokey flavor. I would definitely come back any chance I get. Excellent service, excellent food, and food was served...
Read moreGreat little Mexican restaurant nestled midtown. I ordered the tacos de carne asada as I do in all Mexican restaurants and it was fantastic and comparable to bigger chains like Plaza Azteca. Was it better, yes it was! The amount of steak in the taco was at least double the amount overall. Speaking of Plaza Azteca, Sabor A Mexico must have picked up old Plaza Azteca chairs that they were no longer using, clearly carved into the chairs was "Plaza Azteca". The glassware also carried the Virginia Cavaliers logo on them. None of this quirkiness took away from the enjoyment and I enjoyed my time there. Great salsa and chips as well. Food cost was in range with other restaurants of this type. I recommend stopping here if ever...
