Kat's Café & Restaurant — Restaurant in Minersville

Update: clearly the owner is very ignorant, as we didn't walk out and NOT PAY!! If you'd like clarification I can send you the print out of the bank statement. My husband paid for what he ate!! I never got my food!!

So my husband and I decided to patronize a buisness today. We feel when a buisness comes to town you should support it. The place has 30 reviews and all are good, so we assumed we'd have a great experience. We were both wrong. Upon entering Kat's cafe in Minersville on Sunbury st. we were told to sit anywhere by a blonde haired woman (I didn't get anyone's names). We sat at table 4 and she brought us water and my husbands soda and Said she'd be back to get our order. After 5 minutes no one came back so I turned around and told her we are ready to order. My husband ordered 8 perogies fried with a salad and I got the reuben sub. She explained the meat slicer was broken since yesterday and I can't order any cold subs. Okay so now I have to hurry and pick something else because I wasn't told that upon entering, so I order the pork schnitzel sub. After about 25 minutes coseslaw came out to go with my meal and then my husbands perogies. As he ate, I sat there with no food for about 20 more minutes. The blonde hair woman explained how it would be better if they weren't so dead today, but I'm starting to realize why they're dead! So as I'm still waiting on my food a worker from the back, a cook brings 2 plates of food out and puts it on the table down from us and the 2 ladies brown and blonde hair who are supposed to be working and serving us start to eat their HOT food in front of me. The cook then comes over to me and says it'll be another 5 minutes for my food!!

We got up and left and will never be back!! There was 6 workers in there!!! The place was dead & the workers who work in the front were served before me and SAT down before me to eat!!!! Absolutely unprofessional!!

My wife and I stopped down at Kats Cafe on Sunbury Street in Minersville. We where excited to try this place out because we love supporting local businesses. Unfortunately this might have been the worst restaurant experience I ever had.

1. We where the only ones there, we seated ourselves and the waitress brought us our menu's. After 15 minutes, she still had not come back. She was busy playing on her phone at the front counter. So Jenn called her over.

2. When we ordered, Jenn was told they where out of all sliced meats so she could not have the sandwich she wanted. That might have been something the waitress should have mentioned from the start eh?

3. After waiting for 30 minutes, I got my food. It was .. how can I say it nicely ... mediocre at best. Jenn still had not gotten her meal. While I was eating, the cook brought out food for our waitress and the other staff, who sat at a table behind us and ate their own lunch while Jenn got nothing. Finally the cook comes out and tells here he is working on Jenns food now and it will be done shortly. Hers was not done, because he was busy cooking for the staff!

Can you imaging a restaurant where your waitress sits down and eats lunch while her customers have not been served yet!

Over all this place had terrible service and over priced middling quality food. Such a shame, I really wanted to like this place.

Edit: In regards to the owners comment, I think it is shameful that she has to resort to personal attacks and falsely claim that we walked out on the check instead of just accepting the fact that they dropped the ball here. I will say though, that her response gives some real insight as to the why her business is run the way it is and why the employees are so bad. Went with my family for a late lunch and its was absolutely wonderful! I had the pork schnitzel platter and it was so good!! From first bite I KNEW I will back for that pork schnitzel alone! I also ordered the chicken noddle soup (soup of the day) and I couldn’t even finish because it a huge bowl with GIANT hunks of chicken. But what I did have was very good! The broth was very warm and it’s very comforting. Like it would VERY good on cold winter day! The service was so great! The wait staff were all very nice and friendly! Everything came out in timely manner and they explained how long things would take! The chief/owner came out and spoke with us! She was very sweet! She explained the menu, recommended dishes and just held general conversation. She found out my mom liked beets and offered her some beet salad to try! At the end of our meal she gave us a plate of cookies, which were all just wonderful!! Highly recommend!! i can’t wait to...
