We are staying at the resort so we figured we would try their restaurant. We are here off season, but it was a Saturday night. Staff was great and friendly. And food came out quickly.
The free bread that came out we all swear had mold spots. The waiter told us it was rosemary and "they get asked that all the time". I could see the rosemary. I know what a spice looks like. The suspected mold was the typical blue/gray color and circular pattern. Only on 3 of the 4 spices of bread. Also, if multiple people question your bread....maybe it is time to switch. Very off-putting and set the main meal up for a lot more scrutiny.
2 of us ordered the sirloin dinner cooked medium rare. One was cooked correctly, mine was more medium well. Both cuts of beef were fairly poor but we did order a sirloin and not a pricier cut so I wasn't expecting filet (but at least cooked correctly).
Walley sandwich was pretty meh, lobster ravioli was like overcooked mush with barely any lobster. The blue cheese dressing on my salad was great though! I love a good blue cheese.
My daughter got the kids sunfish meal, it had bones in it that I needed to pick out for her (shes 2). However, the portion was gigantic and the fish itself was actually very good for being sunfish. Probably the best meal of all of ours.
Would not go back, we had planned to do the Subday prime rib brunch today but were so disappointed last evening we...
Read moreWORST service I’ve ever experienced. The waiters/waitress did not know the menu when asked simple questions & no one mentioned being new on the job or anything. The restaurant was NOT busy (2-3 other tables) but our orders were messed up (we all ordered the same meal except 1 person, 3 people had lemonades, the others just water) & it took 2 hours to get our bill after our meal was finished. 3 separate servers came to figure what we had ordered after we had already eaten to try to get the bills correct (which ultimately they were still incorrect). We would see a server maybe once every 30-40 min. (We even asked politely if they needed up to write them down or if there was someway we could help, to which we were told “just give us 5 min”, after already waiting 45 min and the servers were on their cell phones at this time) We asked for a manager & after explaining that the service was unacceptable, she got very upset & told us to “just get out & leave” (we were very polite about it until she got upset with us). Will never go back here!...
Read moreThe hostess was very welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately the food offered on the breakfast buffet was not edible. The buffet was the only option on Saturday morning. The slice of chocolate/vanilla pound cake was okay. The sliced fruit tasted like it had been previously frozen. The 5 hot food items were literally not edible—the fried, diced potatoes were like little rocks; the scrambled eggs were made from a powdered mixture; the bacon was swimming in grease; the pan of pre-made waffles were like sponges. I didn’t taste the sausage patties There was no toaster or bread, no cereal or milk; no hot oatmeal, no bagels. The coffee looked and tasted like brown water. Honestly, I can’t believe we paid $12 person. None of us were able to eat anything except for the slice of pound cake. We paid our $40 bill and then drove 5 miles to the caribou coffee located in Alexandria. I understand the pandemic has been extremely difficult on our travel industry, however there is no excuse for the horrible food on this buffet, and then charging $12 per...
