I like Harpo's in Merrifield, MN. Jeff, the owner has built a comfortable environment to hang out in. Meet up with friends at the bar. Play billiards, darts, and pull-tabs. Catch the meat raffle, or a live band. Huge deck out back, within view and a short walk to the lake. Plenty of free parking in lot, or on street.
Monday nights they offer FREE Texas Hold 'em tournaments. Winners can earn tokens toward their bar tabs. Up for a friendly game, anyone?
Harpo's offers tasty supper specials. Fresh, homemade soups to enjoy on a cold MN night, or any time you're in the mood. Greatest cole slaw ever, and I say that earnestly because I'm not one to eat cole slaw. Fresh salads, hot entrees, and huge burgers! Yum, getting hungry thinking about it.
Full bar with the ultimate in options for beer, wine, mixed drinks, and my favorite Kambucha! Gotta try it, at least once, if you haven't had it, yet. Harpo's is always bringing in new flavors. And for those who choose to stay alcohol free, they also have a wide selection of soda pop both on the gun and in cans.
Come to Harpo's today. You won't be sorry...
Read moreOn a rainy Friday, our final night in town, and with limited choices near our resort, the outside of this place almost made us drive past. The bar had a small game area with the perfect seat for us near it all. Pool table, darts, pinball, coin pusher game & pull tabs. Our son kept busy with the games. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We never waited for a beer and the food came out quickly. We decided on a 16" philly cheese-steak pizza (it was giant!) and a basket of waffle fries with seasoned sour cream. Pizza was delicious, fries crispy. Hoping we make it up there again to try some other...
Read moreStopped in to grab a burger and beer. I wore a mask, my husband can not. We were told we couldn't enter without a mask. When my husband said he had a condition, a loud mouth customer sitting at the end of the bar said "then get the f#&@ out". The bartender was equally rude. There are much better ways to handle this type of situation. We will never ever stop in again after frequenting this place for over 20 years. I work in a restaurant and the owner of our establishment has a sign on the door that says "anyone disrespecting our staff or customers will be asked to leave". I understand their position but that bartender should never have condoned a patron talking to another...
