O G — Restaurant in Mishawaka

1st, you wouldn't want to eat here, in terms of going inside and sitting down. Horrible atmosphere for that, and this is the type of place I only want get my food to go.

In the past, I would have given them a 4 star review. Unfortunately, their food has really gotten worse as time goes on, and they are now horribly expensive, which their pricing used to be their saving grave.

Their chicken fried rice, comes with dark meat only as an example, but still costs the same or more then other similar restaurants (wow!). Or as a pricing example, I can buy a small sweet an sour chicken from somewhere else, for 1/3 of their price (and it is much better quality and taste, IMO).

The food is tolerable, if you buy their most costly items so as to avoid the cheaper items so as not to get the fatty, dark meat, and gristle. If your willing to drive 15-20 minutes out of the area, you can get much better, for much less, at other places.

Bottom line, is I live near them. I used to go there more often. I now haven't been in a very long time (will probally never go again), because they just have stopped even being worth it. I now drive out of the area, to get comparable types of food, cheaper, better quality, and better made. In fact, I have literally driven PAST them, to spend an additional 10-15 minutes on the road, to go somewhere else - not an exaggeration.

As someone that has been going here for over 30 years, its sad to see how pathetic of an option this restaurant has become, as opposed to the household name they once were.

I'm only giving them 3 stars, instead of 1 or 2, as if you don't care about the cost, and want to buy the most expensive meals on their menu, then its "ok". Even then though, you can still get better quality 10 minutes away, from...

I have been going to OG for at least 20 years now. There was a short period a few years back when I guess they changed hands and the food really suffered for it. I can say with great confidence that now that the food is back to the same high standards I remember way back when. I started getting food there after a long search of local Chinese restaurants in the area, most of which are a huge joke, after I moved back here from Chicago where you couldn't walk 6 blocks without finding a great Chinese place that delivered! I didn't have much hope I would find one but it was the closest to good, authentic Chinese I could find around here. The only thing that would make it better is if they opened a Dim Sum joint next to it! For those that are complaining about Bourbon Chicken, I want to know why you would go to a Chinese place for that, or curry?? Find a good hillbilly or Cajun place for bourbon chicken and an Indian or Thai place for curry... Not all Asian food is the same, just like not all American food is. OG has great food at pretty good prices for the portions you get. If you like real Chinese food definitely...

The young girl who answered the phone brings a lot of SHAME to this place. If her family owns the restaurant, she should feel like trash, as she is bringing great shame to her family.

I ordered through door dash. Called the restaurant directly and said please add hot mustard after ordering, as there is no option. I was told no problem.

Then when the order arrived, no hot mustard. After calling back the entitled girl berates me and said you'll need to speak with door dash. I said that's fine but why, when I called, did you tell me no problem? I've NEVER had this problem before and have ALWAYS gotten the condiments I've requested... ZERO sauces this time.

Her response, quote "well I wasn't the one you spoke with" and hung up on me.

I understand, but you represent the restaurant. I will never order from here again. I think you need to check your attitude. Get a life as you are angry and are destroying...
