First impression was waiting outside ( it’s so hot and muggy) to be seated. It took at least 30 minutes to get seated. The party before us was quite large, but it was just my daughter and me and the restaurant was nearly empty so a 2-top shouldn’t have been too difficult to get. The host came out to seat us and then another server chased him down and told him not to seat us. The host shrugged his shoulders and left us still standing outside for another 5 minutes. He then came to get us and took us to a table with a chair missing. He had to go find another chair. Keep in mind, the restaurant is basically empty as we’re here on a Sunday when all of the lake vacationers have already headed home. It was somewhat of a fiasco for them to find a server to wait on us. The server eventually came over and took our drink order. When he returned with drinks he had forgotten that I ordered a Diet Pepsi. 🙄 The pizza that we ordered came out relatively quickly, and the little gal that brought it to us was sweet. The pizza was hot and delicious, and the thin crust was incredible! The ranch dressing we got to dip our pizza in was so yummy! We did not see our server once while we were eating. My daughter and I had to grab another gal to get refills for us and she didn’t even bring my daughter the sweet tea that we asked her for. She brought her an unsweetened tea in a plastic cup from the bar that barely had any ice in it. I went and asked the bartender for the correct drink. She very sweetly went back to the kitchen to grab her a nice fresh icy glass of sweet tea. Our server finally came to our table when we were all done. He promptly grabbed the to-go box and bill that I asked for. He was super nice and friendly as I paid. Moral of the story for our experience the food was really good, but the experience made it not enjoyable and frustrating. I can’t imagine going back on purpose just because of the chaotic environment. Restaurants are supposed to provide a nice stress free evening out, away from the kitchen. This definitely was not our experience...
Read moreThe only good thing about this place was the food. Other than that I have nothing good to say. We get there and get our drinks fairly quickly, and order. But it took forever to get our food and there was literally nobody else in the restaurant. While we were in the restaurant the servers were all in the bar area and were so loud, and were screaming and laughing and just being extremely unprofessional. I could barely here the people next to me because of them. Once we were finally done eating, we decided to go out to the beach and swim and play volleyball. First of all, they handed us a volleyball that was literally falling apart. So once we got it we took the cover off to play with it easier. When returning it without the cover, once again the unprofessional teenagers working this place, asked us to pay $15 for damages to the ball. We first calmly told them we didn’t damage the ball it had been given to us like that, but they didn’t care and wouldn’t let us leave unless we paid the fine. We continued to tell them no but they wouldn’t listen and would not let us leave. We think that they wanted the money for themselves as some else outside said they also had to pay a fine for the volleyball but they only paid $10. I don’t know why they gave us the ball if it was already destroyed. They gave it to us probably hoping we would take the cover off so they could make some cash. Then the next day we called to complain and the same abnoxious girl working the day before answered, and when we asked for a manager she said she couldn’t find them that maybe they left as they come and go as they please. This place is extremely not professional and needs some help with the people working here. Would not recommend and will not be...
Read moreWhen i pulled this up to report how poorly and disorganized that Captain Ron's was tonight i found an old 8 year review where we had trouble before. Not sure i have come back until tonight and it was a disaster. The service was horrible. We were filling out own sodas and water. One in our party ordered grilled grouper and they brought Cajun which she didn't like and asked for her order to be fixed. After everyone was finished eating and waiting over an hour we had to get sometimes attention to get the order right. The manager did apologize and took the meal off the ticket but completely ruined her dinner. Even after that when I asked the waitress to get me some more to drink and was paying my bill she told me she would get it for me. So I tipped her and never saw her again. It is sad because it wasn't even busy. I guess I will have wait another 8 years and try it again.
This review was from eight years ago....They did not fill tables that were empty because they were behind in the kitchen. We had a party of 7 and would have been more comfortable sitting at the table that was empty the whole time we were waiting almost an hour. I know this is typical wait at a lake restaurant but it was a little after 2 in the afternoon. The food was average. Our waitrese Kailey did everything she could to make it right. After we are seated it was another 45 minutes to eat. We are leaving restaurant and it is almost 4:30....management might want to look at turnover when tables are available since we stood at bar waiting...
