PLEASE READ TO THE END IF YOU ARE STILL CONSIDERING VISITING. I want to start by stating that this was the worst dining experience I have EVER had. Went for my girlfriends birthday dinner and waited in line, to order food, for almost 45mins. I ordered 2 crab buckets and a dozen peel and eat shrimp. The shrimp was right next to the register and when I asked to take shrimp as an appetizer I was told that it would be served with our food. I thought little of it because it seemed as though food was coming out quick and I was still going to get a drink. I then waited at both bars for a combined 15mins before I was served a "32oz bucket" (was not 32oz) that was not only filled with almost entirely ice but also had what appeared to be lake fly larva. After finally getting back to the table we proceeded to wait another 45mins to an hour for our food. We were given only a small gavel/hammer to open the crab and were shorted on our peel and eat shrimp which were still the same shrimp sitting in reservoir next to the register that were now just sitting in melted ice. When I went and asked if they had a crab cracker or anything else for the crab I was told that they only had hammers and to use my hands.... Being a good sport I proceeded to use the hammer, as instructed, and made it only one leg in to my first cluster before I had enough. The legs couldn't be opened without making the crab into a meat/shell pulp. On my first bite I got a piece of shell lodged in my tooth where it still is... Against my better judgment we packed the food in a togo container so that we could go to the local Walmart to get a crab cracker so my girlfriend could try to enjoy her birthday dinner. By the time we got home the food was cold and will likely find its way to the trash in the morning as seafood is never good reheated. Additionally, I went to bed still hungry, after dropping over $125, because by the time we left nothing else was open... WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!! In fact I would highly recommend that NO ONE attempt to eat at this establishment unless they want to leave still hungry and...
Read moreThis is the first I’ve ever even done a review since generally I like to give the benefit of the doubt and it’s not worth the energy to be negative. But this place has twice now been beyond awful. The first time, my son ordered chicken fingers that came out raw—like completely raw. The 2nd time was this past weekend. We stood in line for 30 minutes just waiting to order. Not sure why it take so long to order when I took all of 2 minutes. They were out of a ton of things, so people probably were spending time changing their minds. Then we waited for over an hour for our food. This is confusing considering everything should be premade—pulled pork, lobster roll, ribs, etc. the only thing requiring “cooking” was nachos—which came out with cold, unmelted cheese, barely any meat, and barely any toppings on the stale chips. The “Asian slaw” was shredded cabbage that the girl at the counter drizzled Asian salad dressing over the top. The girl taking orders was fine and trying to be helpful, but the girl putting orders together was downright rude. So after waiting 1.5 hours to order and get our food, it was inedible. They keep a jug of water for you to fill your own water cups, but it was empty and no one ever refilled.
I’m sure their drinks and bar service are fine if you like standing at a bar waiting for a bartender to pay attention to you after awhile.
We are regulars at the lake and we generally accept that most lake restaurants are overpriced mediocre food, but this was the worst experience I have ever had. I was embarrassed that we brought our...
Read moreTerrible food. Great drinks, great atmosphere, great service. The ring and hook games are fun, as well as cornhole. Everyone working was very nice, bartender did a great job with drinks. But the food was awful. I got the fried oyster bucket, the oysters weren't good (during a month with an R in it's name so they should be good) and there weren't very many of them. It looked like there might be, but upon eating the smaller pieces I found out there was no oyster inside. My friend got the fried shrimp bucket and all of the (very small) shrimp still had part of the shell on them underneath the breading. My fiance got grilled cheese, probably the best option given the circumstances, but even that didn't seem great as there was no butter or anything on the bread. We all got fries, which were quite soggy. Not a bit of crispness to be found on any of them. The bartender asked about our food, it seemed he was aware of the issues but of course that's not his department to fix. We saw one lady get a refund for her food while we were there, so it definitely wasn't just our food that was bad. And they definitely dump sewage or the kitchen's waste water or something into the lake through that PVC pipe by the stairs. I believe they're grandfathered in making it legal for them to do so, but I still find it gross and it smells horrible when you walk up the stairs from the dock. If you come here I recommend you eat before you come and just come for the drinks...
