As I’ve said in countless reviews for locations around the Branson,MO area. My family and I come up to Branson at least once a year. For every trip we try to at least try one new place. This time is no different. My wife was craving pizza. And between the two of us we have been to Chicago on three occasions. So when seeing the deep dish pizza options, we decided on Mr. Gilberti’s. On the way there it was a little confusing, as it seemed like it was in some random neighborhood. As we approached the restaurant, parking seemed to be very minimal. We couldn’t locate a spot and was about to turn around and leave. My wive walked in to see if there was parking elsewhere. There wasn’t, but luckily a spot opened on the street. I was able to squeeze in and we proceeded in. The hostess asked how many. We told her three. “Did you call ahead?” No. “Did you make a reservation?” Again no, while thinking that was technically the same question as the first. She told us to hold on for minute and let her see if there was a table. There was and she took us to it. The place smelled amazing. Which made our decision making on what to order a little more difficult. We decided on the Chicago Deep Dish pizza. The menu said that it takes 30-60 minutes to make that. That was fine. While we were waiting we were noticing some of the other things people were ordering. Look amazing. After the order was taken and drinks brought we never seen the waitress again. My wife wanted a glass of wine before the meal came. Every time she was in the area she was at different tables. We would try to get her attention but calling out to her and she must have not heard us. So I go and move my car away from the street and come back in a approach the waitress about my wife’s glass of wine. She said ok and never seen again. Then the food came out. My wife wanted her drink before dinner, so we cancelled it. But the pizza, even though it was not Chicago deep dish at all, it was very delicious. Just not as advertised. One of my pet peeves at any restaurant, aside from the food and service, is wether or not my drink gets filled. But I guess that could fall under the “service” moniker. But my glass stayed empty the entire time. She brought our check and asked if I wanted a refill. Yes, please. Did I get it? No. If she wasn’t going to bring it, don’t ask. But in a nutshell shell. Food: good, parking: not as, Atmosphere: good, Service: could be improved. Return visit: debatable

My gosh!!!!! This has been the most enjoyable meal we've had in quite a while! From the very beginning, there was a sweet lady standing outside by the door welcoming people! Inside, the atmosphere is so inviting and cozy. It immediately felt like home! It's fairly quiet, which I enjoy when dining with my family. We ordered the tomato bread with cheese as an appetizer, soooooo good!!!! Then we ordered the Mr. Gilberti's special deep dish pizza. This was fantastic, the green peppers are marinated and they add a depth of flavor to the pizza that is just incredible! I'm not even a huge green pepper fan and let me just say, I wouldn't order a pizza without them! Then for dessert, we ordered the chocolate cake (sorry the picture isn't pretty, everyone dug in before I could get a good photo). I didn't think the meal could get any better, but oh man, it did! The cake comes out warm, there's cannoli cream on top that just melts into the cake and makes it so decadent and the fresh whipped cream and chocolate shavings have made this my new favorite dessert. Whatever you do, don't pass up this amazing family recipe dessert, you won't regret it! This is definitely a favorite place with the locals, lots of carry out happening while we were there as well as reserved tables for the regulars! This was such a wonderful and satisfying dining experience, we can't wait to go back! As we were leaving, the same sweet lady was still outside and she asked what we had and gave us suggestions on her favorites for our next visit. She was delightful and I seriously wanted to give her a hug, she just had that grandma feel about her and truly added to the whole experience! This place is the real deal!!!!!

What is up with the prices here? 14.95 for 6 wings, 18.95 for fried calamari? I have alpha-gal and eating out is a pain sometimes. Thankfully I am able to handle dairy. Sadly, I am unable to handle mammal meats. We asked for the Mr. Gilberto’s specialty pizza which is already 35.75 and asked if they could sub 3x chicken for the Italian sausage, pepperoni and canadian bacon on the pizza. Waiter said yes but then came back and said no, we have to charge you 5.75 extra for the chicken. I asked if we could just do 2x or even 1x chicken in order to avoid the up charge and they said no. I am now paying 40 + $ for a pizza. This is ridiculous and on top of the 17.95 + 8.95 I am paying for our Andy Williams salad so that my son can eat with us. I completely understand that things have changed and inflation is real but I have never in my life paid this much for a pizza. If I cannot have 3 of the meats on a pizza because of a health condition and I ask for a meat sub and I stipulate that we are willing to accept a 2x or even 1x sub for the 3 we cannot have but they still demand an up charge while still saving kitchen cost on the 2 meats they don’t have to serve, that is ridiculous. The waiters answer was “but have you had our food before”. I have, and it’s not worth 40 + a pizza. I am all in at 25 or so for a large but if you cannot control your costs then maybe you are doing something wrong. I have been here at least 5 times in the past but when I cannot get consideration for a health condition that actually saves you money when I ask for 1/3 of the meat, I’m out. See the picture for my 27$ salad also after taking 2 bowls out of it. They were smallish/smaller bowls to the side of it.

I saw a lot of great reviews for this place and was excited to try out this Chicago style pizza! We (four adults and four small children) arrived for lunch at 12:30 on a Sunday. They were busy, but there were still several empty tables. The waitress took our drink order and we placed a food order for the kids at the same time, thinking we’ll decide and place our food order when the drinks arrive. Well those drinks took a long time to arrive. Long enough for us to get pretty concerned about our restaurant choice and the rest of the experience. They finally came and we placed our order. Then we waited and waited and waited. The kids food arrived and we waited and waited and waited again for our food. The waitress apologized a couple of times during the wait, but seemed rather apathetic about it. We didn’t get out of this place until 2:45, the final 15 minutes being the time when we actually got to eat the food. It felt more like dinner by the time we got it. I’m no expert on deep dish pizza, but it wasn’t very deep. Like it could have just been cooked on a regular pizza pan. It was good pizza, but didn’t meet my expectations based on the reviews and pictures I had seen. My wife ordered a $30 seafood pasta dish. It was lukewarm. The artichoke hearts in the dish were cold. What would you do after waiting so long and being hungry? Send it back and wait again? She ate most of it, but we told them we wouldn’t be paying for it after waiting so long and having it come like that. The chef then came out to us with the plate to angrily inquire about it. We told him that a $30 plate of food that you wait two hours for should not be lukewarm. He stomped off and we could hear him in the kitchen throwing the plate and complaining. I have never done this before, but I left no tip. There was another table next to us that had a very similar experience. Their meatball grinder had cold meatballs. They ordered the same seafood pasta as my wife and sent it back due to temperature. They brought it back microwaved and she refused it. They waited forever too, but arrived after we did and got their food before us. The pasta was removed from our bill, reluctantly. It would have been a worse scene had they refused. Proceed...

We love visiting this location when we are here in Branson but tonight’s experience was absolutely terrible. We were seated promptly upon arrival and warmly greeted. Drinks quickly were delivered to our table but that is where it ends. We have eaten at this establishment enough times to know to expect a 45 to even an hour wait for one of their deep dish pizzas. Waitress greeted us 15 min after our drinks were delivered by the hostess. No biggie. Gave her our order as we know what we want since we have been here a few times. Spinach dip took 20 min and it was lukewarm. Pizza never arrived bc after waiting almost 2 hours AND after we decided to cancel the pizza order, it was miraculously sitting at the window. One thing to note that while waiting, our waitress even made the comment after I asked for a fresh drink that it was watered down. Yes. It was watered down bc we have been waiting for the pizza for over an hour at this point. She made it a point to ask everyone around us how they were doing all the while ignoring us. I would have appreciated her taking the initiative to ask the chef when our pizza was coming out. When I canceled the order, the waitress LOUDLY announced that our table did not want it and made it a point to announce it was now sitting in the window. And she also made it a point to announce that she had to “buy the pizza”. I left her enough of a tip to pay for half the cost of the pizza she had to buy . I was certainly not tipping her bc of service bc it was non existent. Because of this experience, we will not visit this location again. It takes a lot to get under my skin but this whole dining experience was not up to par to our past visits. Perhaps we will visit again in the future, until then we will visit a...
