Penny's Diner — Restaurant in Mitchell

My family ate here a couple of times. Once for breakfast and once for dinner. The breakfast was definitely better for our taste. We had no complaints about the food. For dinner it was a little different. My sons hamburger and fries were fine. I got a club sandwich. The menu says the bread will be lightly toasted. My bread was not lightly toasted and to make it worse the waitress hid the most burnt piece as the middle piece of bread. So the first bite i took was pretty awful. Once i removed the middle piece and ate it without it was fine. I was a little disappointed because the waitress saw me taking the burnt piece of bread off the sandwich and made no effort to fix the sandwich. My husband got chilli cheese fries and he said they were ok. The chilli wasnt his favorite but there was nothing "wrong" with it. All in all we probably would eat here again for breakfast. I just appreciate when a place gives customers food they would eat rather than worring about wasting something overcooked.

The biggest suggestion I would make is to regulate the temperature in the building. Both times we visited the place was freezing! My family were not the only ones to notice it either. We just wore our coats/sweaters, but it was...

I usually try not to rate food badly but I honestly have one of the worst experiences of my life here. I usually try diners and I'm absolutely blown away at the food and the massive portions. The food here was convenient because it was right next to the hotel we were staying at. Initially I was like it can't be that bad it's conveniently located next to a Hotel. Let me tell you we had a party of eight and it took forever for our food to come out I did not like any of the food and the choices were very limited I had chicken and waffles which is my go-to if it's ever on the menu it was absolutely terrible and disgusting. They forgot my son's order so the waitress quickly got behind the counter and shifted up which I'm like okay I appreciate that proceeded to bring his food out pretty quickly which it was pretty easy. She forgot to add a strip of bacon to his plate originally. She walks back over there and hands us the piece of bacon out of her hand and says hey I forgot this I immediately should have walked out and every bite from there on the food got more and more disgusting I was completely dissatisfied probably the worst dining experience I've ever had in my entire life the food was...

We went there tonight. There was 3 other people in the diner, a table of 2 men that was served shortly after we got there and another man who was already eating. We had 3 adults and 5 kids. We got an attitude from the girl and guy who were working from when we walked in the door. Took forever for her to wait on us. When she did she had an attitude. Took forever for the food, 4 of the kids got theirs first, then sometime later 2 adults than the other adult. After they brought those, we asked about the food for my son,. She laughed and said he forgot it and was cooking it. It wasn't served until most everyone else was done. We didn't see either again except the cook going outside right after he was done cooking. Our order came to over $85.00. and while we checked out, hearing about how she was only going in 2 hours sleep cause she couldn't even get the ticket filled out and priced. In addition to all of that the adults hamburgers were so small it didn't even fill half the bun, and the kids were huge. Plus there might have been 8 french fries on each plate. For that kind of money being spent we should have been served a LOT better and better food. All the adults...
