You kinda know this is going to be an interesting dining experience. And it was!Google maps had absolutely no idea how to get us to this destination, but determined to find it, we did (hint - just get yourself to Old Shell Road and then plug in the address.) The outside looked a little less than inviting, although the neighborhood was fine. However, reviews we'd read pushed us forward and oh what a delightful surprise inside! Warm, elegant decor, excellent service, great prices, and a chef who is proud to describe every item on the menu and the fresh, preservative-free ingredients he blends into each one. Astounding! I chose the Grouper special, which came with a delightful little salad. It was very, very good. After reading a number of positive reviews my wife and I stopped in for lunch today while traveling through Mobile. When we pulled up I noted a neon "Open" sign in the window that was off and wondered if they were closed today. Since I'd driven out of my way I walked up to the door and found they were in fact open and had an empty dining room aside from a single party of three. We had the Greek salad and a gyro. Both were okay at best while dining however the gyro generated some serious regret later in the day. The iced tea was undrinkable - even after trying some sweetener. I met Abba without knowing of this establishment and he was so nice and personable that I had to check it out when he told me of it. Boy am I glad I did! This is absolutely fine dining at an extremely affordable price. The ambience inside is incredibly nice and our waiter was great. Abba came and spoke to us and every other customer that came in to say hello and explain the specials. Both me and my girlfriend got the lamb special and it was by far the best meal I've had all year. My girlfriend (who is greek) said the baklava is the best that she's had in this city.
