First time absolutely bizarre atmosphere staff overwhelmed. Came in no one greeted me stood in front til it got awkward then decided to walk to the bar area to ask an employee if there’s any tables available she seemed confused. Finally I think the owner/manager stepped out of the kitchen and asked how could they help me? Still slightly bizarre as normally someone greets you then sits you. After that I was seated ordered a Tempranillo, and two tapas seems like the Pizza is what they are known for but I didn’t try it. The first tapa ropa vieja turnovers not bad just a little more filler. The Serrano ham and cheese tapas came out like a sandwich dish with a side of fries. So I think the vibe is small eats not necessarily from Spain with wine. Sort of like a PR wine spot with a hint of Spain. 9:30 place emptied out quickly unfortunately no one really ask me if I needed anything like another glass of wine or how’s the tapas? Kinda invisible weird as the place is empty only two tables but I guess it’s more important to rearrange tables than serve clients. They need to tweak this place as I wrote this whole review and no one ever came by not once. The owner spent her time with one table with two guys as you can see in one of the pics. So she didn’t even say thank you good night very rude...

Picaderos – Taverna Española is an absolute hidden gem on the west side of the island and 100% worth the detour.
We started with the queso fundido, which was incredible. The cheese had those perfect, dramatic pulls, and the bread was warm and crunchy—just an all-around amazing appetizer with rich, balanced flavors.
The rollitos de primavera had a surprising southwest twist that worked beautifully. They were packed with savory goodness and came with a sauce that tied it all together perfectly.
The albondigas (meatballs) were massive and full of bold, delicious flavor. They were cooked just right and easily some of the best I’ve had.
And to end things on a sweet note, the churros with Spanish chocolate and ice cream were out of this world—crispy on the outside, soft inside, and perfectly paired with the rich chocolate and cool ice cream.
Every dish was on point. The ingredients were fresh, the flavors were on another level, and the whole experience was just fantastic. Whether you’re a local or just visiting the area, this spot is a must-visit....
Read moreFood was very good! Beers were super cold! Nice selection of beers & wine. Service was excellent. A lot of dishes are made with chorizo (for the flavor) and/or pork products. My sister is allergic to pork and I don't eat meat but, they worked with us with our dietary needs!! Suggested different products and/or tweak some of the ones we wanted to exclude those items. I call that excellent service! Will definitely be back when in town. p.s. It's a small town square so parking is limited but there is parking across the restaurant in a small lot. It's just not very visible...
