We left 2 hours in, after not being seated on Father's Day 2024. The last 30 minutes, I was staring at 4 empty tables. They started telling customers after us that you could order at the bar and be served. We left without getting food
EDIT: As I was typing this, my wife forced our way into a table. The following is a chronology of events here.
0800 we wake up and depart to White Rock for a family hike. We arrive at 0900. CSIB opens at 1100, we arrive at 1115. We are told a 30 minute wait, open tables are viewed from the entrance.
1215 hits, my wife checks in with the hostess who states there is a single group ahead of us. A large party leaves and I stare at 4 empty tables for 30 minutes, while telling my tired and hungry children to be patient. A worker is seen carrying food out to picnic tables by the water. We ask if we could have ordered (an hour and 45 minutes ago) and just ate out there; the worker, agitated, talks down to us but confirms that we could have ordered at the bar. (we would have done so if this option was offered to us)
At 1315 my wife checks in again, we have seen multiple groups leave. By our memory, no one has been waiting longer than us and many who have arrived after us have been seated. The older hostess gives another excuse about table size, the last group to go was the same size. A younger hostess overhears and actually conducts customer service instead of telling placating lies. As we are seated, the manager asks what is going on and agrees with the younger hostess. My wife sees the notebook they keep their seating list on, a least a half dozen names after ours was crossed off. On our way to our tables, we saw even more empty tables than we noticed from the picnic area.
The creek is the only redeeming part of CSIB. The food is mediocre. The beer is middling. And, if you read this far, you can guess what I think of the service. As far as the value? Way overpriced.
In short, we inconvenienced an older hostess and she decided to punish us because we had the audacity to not make a reservation for 11am. At hourly check ins she lied to our faces to get us off her back. After an interminable wait we were not even comped for the poor service, not that I'd beg for one. I will definitely not...

We went there for their “soft opening” and the service was good but their own beer was not at all.
We were excited about the deck/potential of good food that we told our parents we would go there over the weekend. Friday night I called to make a reservation for Saturday and was told that they don’t take reservations. So we took our parents there at 4pm on Saturday. The parking lot was packed so we were worried upon arrival. When we walked in, I said we had a party of 7. The hostess replied that there was no way she could seat us. She then asked if I was with another party of 7 or if I made a reservation. I told her I had called the previous night and was told they don’t take reservations. I had to ask if we could be put on a wait list and she said “she would have to see what she could do.”
She walked away and she when returned, another group was waiting for a seat. The hostess asked how many they had (ignoring us) and when the other party asked if we were in front of them, the hostess said there was no way she could seat us tonight and I should call to make reservations next time. Again I told her, that I was told they don’t take reservations. She then changed her front and said they aren’t taking reservations now but will in the future. I was clearly confused. There were also “reserved” tents laid out so her story wasn’t matching up the fact that they couldn’t take reservations (or the fact that she asked if I was a part of another group that had called ahead). We left there frustrated that they didn’t even want to try to take our business, give us a wait time, etc.
Our parents drove 40 minutes to meet us for dinner and we went super early so we could get a seat. Based on their lack of organization, poor communication skills and bad beer, we won’t be back. The creek view is the only thing they have going for them. I hope this place figures out how to manage...
Read moreI am just disappointed with the recent visit to Cold Springs Inn& Brewing Company. My friends and I had high hopes for a memorable Sunday afternoon by the creek, but unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory.
Upon arrival, the hostess seated us at a table that didn't offer the picturesque view we were hoping for. As we work in the restaurant business ourselves, we kindly asked if we could be moved to a different table to enhance our dining experience. To our surprise, the hostess outright refused our request, stating that it was not possible. They were not busy.
Nevertheless, we decided to sit at the desired table, hoping for a change of heart from the restaurant's staff. Regrettably, the hostess returned and reiterated that we could not sit at that table, leaving us feeling both disregarded and disrespected.
Considering our own experiences in the industry, we believe that a key aspect of hospitality is accommodating guests' requests whenever possible. Unfortunately, the lack of understanding from the hostess and the subsequent disregard from the manager was deeply disheartening.
When we sought to speak with the manager to address our concerns, we were blatantly ignored, leaving us with a sense that our patronage was undervalued and that the restaurant had little interest in addressing customer issues.
As patrons who frequently dine out and work within the restaurant community, we are well aware of the challenges faced in this industry. However, we firmly believe that such challenges should not serve as excuses to dismiss customers' requests and ignore their grievances.
In light of this frustrating experience, we have been left with no choice but to share our dissatisfaction with others and reconsider future visits to Cold Springs. We sincerely hope that management will take this feedback seriously and implement necessary changes to ensure a more customer-centric approach...
