Highlander Pub and Grill — Restaurant in Monroe Township

My husband and I dined here outside in the first week of November when it was warm still, and the scenery was beautiful. We thought it would be a nice date-night.

The service was horrible however, and the food was just ok. It was super noisy because of one particular table which ruined the mood. We had to ask for bread the 3rd time our server came out and still no ice water. She finally brought glasses, but then left them empty for 20mins. Finally we grabbed another server for ice water and were given, I kid you not, glasses of very warm water!

The meal finally came out, (we both order the salmon salad). The fish was overcooked and the salad was boring.

I have been here a few times and loved it; I was excited for my husband to finally be able to go for the first time. I never had a bad experience, unfortunately our visit here last night was not one of the best. Although our server was very nice he wasn't as attentive as needed maybe because he was serving outside as well as inside. He took our order for drinks and appetizers but never asked for ourfood order for dinner. My husband had the tuna sashimi as an appetizer, he said the tuna was a little mushy. My husband then had to wave down someone else that work there to get our food order taken. He ordered chicken francaise and when it came out there was absolutely no sauce over the chicken so we had to request it, which then took some time to track our server down. Tonight my husband made reservations for dinner. We arrived and the hostess face said it all! My husband informed her that we had 8:30pm reservation she immediately said she doesn't see a reservation for us. My husband said how can you when you didn't ask my name. He pulled up the reservation email and she said your reservation is for the 11th today is the 13th. I said today is the 11th. The restaurant was not full at all. So when my husband asked her is there any available tables she looked confused and disgusted. She hesitated and said ummmm yes I guess.
