UPDATE: I was able to resolve the primary issue I had with the extra hour at the end of night and so I adjusted from 2 to 4 stars . I am leaving the full review up but wanted to shoutout that the F&B manager Greg was great to speak with and handle the situation. I wish I was able to speak with him sooner and if you ever have problems I recommend trying to get into touch with him.

I would not recommend using them as a venue unless you hire your own wedding coordinator and they are on top of everything. The coordination here is unfortunately very poor, whether that is due to being overworked or incompetence.

It is especially frustrating given that, originally, their coordinators are one major reason we picked the place. They seemed to be on top of everything from initial discussions but when it came to the actual , most of the staff were not on the same page.

We requested food and drinks for bridal party and groomsman to be there upon arrival and even asked multiple times beforehand to make sure it would be there and it wasn't nor were there any staff coming by to the rooms to help. We had to go find staff to set up the simulator room, bring us food and drink, etc.

Once the food came they brought a single order of chicken fingers for an entire groomsman party. It may not be a big deal but it summarizes how much they had no idea what was going on. A similar situation happened with the bridesmaids.

In addition to that, they didn't come and grab us groomsman until the very last second before we had to walk down the aisle. It was very rushed and they almost made the bride forget the bouquet.

Most importantly, they charged us $1000+ for an extra hour at the end of the night only for the staff to start cleaning up an hour early so a lot of the wedding left because they thought the time was up. If we pay money for the reception to be until 1130, the cleaning crew shouldn't be turning the lights on and cleaning at 1030. I brought all this up multiple times and have yet to be in contact with anyone with actual authority to fix the issue over at Scotland Run.

There were a couple of minor issues you might not care about listed here but it just goes to show how they handle events. No one wants to have to deal with issues on their wedding day and no one wants to have to repeatedly reach out to try and get money back for services they didn't render.

If you want to risk it go ahead, the pros are that the food is excellent and the view is great but if I had to do it again I would pick somewhere else just...

Great view, everything else terrible! Went here for a bridal shower brunch and all I can say is the girls from the wedding party had a better eye for set up than the event planner. The girls had glasses made that should have been set up with the mimosas.They were already mixed in a pitcher( which I have never ever seen them premixed like that) and they were on the food table in the front which nobody saw them until the bridal party announced they were there after the bride arrived.Mimosas are a great ice breaker when people are arriving.They were served with no fruit, no display no nothing.Looked like a bottle of orange juice.The food table was 2 tables long.When the food came out it was store bought bagels and danish( no toaster), a bowl of fruit salad, and a few breakfast items that were premade and cold.There were only 26 people attending so why have long empty tables making it look like food was missing.Round tables or one long one all filled in would have looked so nice.Over in the corner was a small pasta station, again food was cold.Everyone at our table left food on their plates and agreed about it being cold and less than average.When it came time for cake they brought out a small tray of store bought cookies and brownies on a flat plastic tray that they put on the long empty table.So unappetizing.The groom actually wanted a few cookies and they had the nerve to try and take the tray away! The young server was polite and he was constantly going around refilling coffee but yet again it was cold! The room and the view were beautiful for pictures but what a let down for the words " bridal shower brunch"! The event planner needs to get on board with details and be there in person to check how the set up looks the day of the event.Also, being the group bought their own cake they were charged per piece to cut and serve it! We all went and got food on the way home being we were so hungry. Save your money, there are many other places with a great view that have an experienced event planner...

A great indicator of how your quality of service will be at a venue can often be gleaned from how a venue treats their vendors (photographer, musicians, florists, etc).

As a vendor (professional musician), my company recently performed for a wedding at Scotland Run Golf Club on New Year's Day.

To be quite honest, I am used to subpar treatment from many venues. Professional musicians and other venues are often treated like garbage, to be frank.

Over years of performing around the country and around the South Jersey/Philadelphia area, I've dealt with some venues in which musicians deal with the following:

1. Being screamed at by the venue staff to unload all of their equipment, take it up to the specified ballroom, and move their car within an unreasonable period of time like 5 minutes

2. Not being permitted to use carts, even if there are carts owned by the venue that are being unused and are readily available

3. Being ignored and disrespected by venue staff

My treatment during my time at Scotland Run Golf Club was spectacular, and nothing like what I mentioned above. The event manager was courteous, informed, and very easy to work with. The venue staff from the start were kind in directing me to where the wedding was occurring in the club itself. The event manager was also kind enough to spend a few moments with me to ensure that our timelines for the event were synced.

This is outstanding service, and the overall quality of service to the guests seemed similar in its excellency.
