Crawfish Hideaway — Restaurant in Mont Belvieu

I've tried a few places when visiting Houston. Nothing compares. We had the crab boil which had 4 lbs of crawfish, a crab, and shrimp. Oh, that shrimp was amazing. I'll be craving that until next time! Crawfish Hideaway has the recipe for seasoning down to an art. I'm a huge fan of cajun seasoning on a boil. We got regular with a little spicy. I still had watering eyes and at one point couldn't tell if my nose was running or not. 😂😂😂 Honestly, that's when you know its good because you just use your arm to wipe whatever may or not be there. I also didn't realize I had juice dripping from the back of my wrist and really didn't care because I was in deep. 🤷‍♀️🤣 The gumbo- ehh- could use a little more seasoning. The roux was lacking in salt and didn't have much else to it. We preferred the gumbo without the roux and that's not common to miss taste on a roux. The gator bites- delish. I will say that the water tastes straight from the swamp. 🐊 Ask for a bottle of water. Or BYOB if that's your thing. We didn't know that but next time with a party, bring your adult beverage of choice. They'll even give you a bucket of ice. Our waitress, Chloe, was first class. She was young but this girl was on it. She truly deserves a raise. She had amazing manners and knew to keep the table clear of unneeded things. She was super sweet. The flavor of the crawfish was really good, however, in comparison to the spicy crawfish you can get other places their "hot" crawfish is not that hot. The seating area was very clean and the waitresses were very attentive. The only huge negative I have about this place is that my husband ordered boiled crab legs and once they arrived he removed a leg and tried to eat it, well it was cold. We asked the lady to fix the problem and literally no less than a minute later she came back with the same crab legs (the same leg was removed, that's how we know it was the same stuff we sent back) stating they were hot. This leads me to believe they microwaved my $17lb crab legs.... Are you serious right now? My husband did comment on how difficult they were to shell afterwards contributing to the fact that they were...

I would have given this place zero stars if I could. Didn’t even get a chance to sit down because it’s sit yourself. Be prepared to have to argue with someone over a place to sit as there are multiple doors open where someone can just walk in ahead of you and take a table even if you were waiting first. Also, people who already have a table can apparently save the table next to them for buddies coming that aren’t there yet when the people sitting there told you that we could have the table when they got up then the waitress said yall can figure it out like were are about to just fist fight for the table or something. Piss poor management and food looked good, but too much of a hassle to spend ya hard earned money on. They need to figure something out before something bad happens...
