I was driving down this country road and what do I see....Yia Yia's greek kitchen. I drove a little further and turned around. I stopped at YiaYia's greek kitchen walked inside and took a look around. I checked out the menu and ordered a few of my greek favorite dishes. I am second generation greek american and very proud to be a greek. I was raised by my grandparents and my YiaYia was the queen of her kitchen. She knew how to cook. I then asked where is YiaYia.? They said she is outside sitting at a table with some friends. I went outside introduced myself and we talked for a few minutes. I then proceeded back inside said a few words took my food and left. I arrived home and opened my plates to prepare for my feast. First I looked at my variety of food....tzatziki, pita bread, pantzaria, greek salad with grilled chicken and for desert baklava. It all looked so amazingly appetizing my mouth began to water. I sat down and began to eat. Im a greek born and raised in astoria, queens where some of the best greek food is served. Let me tell you the way the food was prepared, the amazing flavors, the taste as authentic as can be. Oh my god what a discovery. I continued toneat until I could eat no more. I was preparing in my mind lunch for tomorrow with what food I could not finish. The menu had so many real authentic recipes listed. You made my day. I will spread the word and I most certainly will be back to sample many more items from your menu....
Read moreGave it one star because Google wont let me go lower. Completely awful, gyros are greesy as a truck stop burger. Service is terrible, the waitress is just plan awkward as hell. On top of all that it is ridiculously over priced, 90 dollars for lunch with four people. Wont make that mistake again.
Response to owner; Your food is edible, that doesnt mean it's worth 90 dollars. I've spent time in Greece and on the island of Crete, so I know what a gyro should taste like. The gyros at the fair are better. And yes, 3 gyros a chicken quesadilla that was covered in grease, two apps (one being meatballs and the other pita bread with a nasty dip that no one ate) and four drinks from a cooler all served on such lovely paper plates and plastic cups, oh and dont forget the plastic utensils. Should not cost 90 dollars ($22.50 a person), yea I still tipped the waitress. Good luck staying...
Read moreBEST DOLMADES IN MY LIFE, and I’ve eaten Milos NYC & Petros in Manhattan Beach, CA. Chatted up with the owners who are extremely sweet and casually attentive, and they fly some items in fresh from Greece. Massive portions so it feels like you get a BOGO deal. We went waterfall hiking nearby we inhaled all given how naturally textured and tasty the food was. Meats were perfectly cooked, fries crispy, DOLMADES MELTED IN MY MOUTH like cotton candy, feta cheese & salad all fresh, free refills on unsweetened tea, and nuanced dessert was, bereft of artificial sweepers and had sublime crisp to sauce-douse ratios. Huh, ya get. Soccer on the big screen, in this super friendly and...
